Deal's Gap Comments Thread
I figured instead of posting at the end of the bazillion post long threads about setting up the Gap meet, I'd start a thread for discussion of this truly wonderful event.
First off, hats off to MRCCAL and Phil for pulling this off. Despite it being a first time event, they did very well and managed to keep pretty much the entire gaggle of '7 owners reasonably managed. Some of you know how hard that is.
Also, BONFIRES ROCK... thanks everybody for showing up at our campsite... was a really great time.
And I've got a lot of pictures I'll post over on the pictures thread too...
I just got in about an hour ago and I've eaten now so I'm gonna go wash my car and then probably write some more about this event for everybody.
For those of you who didn't go, be ready to mark your calendars for next year... this was an insane amount of fun.

i think they held it together fairly well, but next year maybe we could do a formal car show, and start the driving earlier in the day.
either way it was a blast, just trying to make some constructive suggestions.

I had an awesome time. I met many more rotorheads and reunited with many more.
Thanks to the MRCCAL for organizing this event. They really did their homework at organizing this event. I don't see where there can be any improvement with all the conditions there are up there to deal with. They will only have to plan for handling more people each year.
Excellent, excellent job guys!!

The event went VERY well in my opinion. Congratulations to Phil and company who worked so diligently to make a fantastic meeting happen.
I, too, look forward to another one, whether it be this fall or next year. The turnout was incredible, especially for a first year event.
I got to see some people I have seen in a long time as well as meet a lot of new people that I hope to maintain a friendship with.
Oh yeah, I had two things happen today. First, when my meal at the brunch today cost $7.77! I thought that was so cool.
Unfortunately, on the way through the mountains, Chris and I got stopped by NC's finest for speeding. I got hit with 70 in a 55. Chris got 80 in a 55. Ouch. Donations are being accepted via Paypal.
Driving in the Gap was an amazing time. Scary? Only when Brian Smith was driving. Fun? Without a doubt. Good enough to get me to do it again? Just try and stop me!

Haha, Drew you need a little tuning on your 7, although your 7 already pulls pretty hard
I would also like to thank Phil and MRCCAL for setting up everything. I am part of the MRCCAL, but I was lazy (mainly work), hehe. I hope that next year I can really help out! It was awesome meeting everyone, everybody was so nice and great, just like what you would expect of a 7 and 8 owners.
I wish we can have another meet so, it was really really great. I hope the next meet, I will have a car to drive, instead of being a passenger.
Hope everyone had a good and safe drive back.
