I know, the gas price is crazy!! But also, this event is really for RX8 guys.. This coming spring, I'm going to try to get some cash (gas money) for you to bring the truck and trailer. It was really nice when that guy broke down. Thanks again for your help!!

I will try to make it I work Tuesday threw Saturday 04:00 --> 09:00. So I might only be there for one day. If I can get my schedule changed from tuesday-->Saturday to Monday --> Friday I will be good to go! If anyone is traveling up Saturday I will try to join the convoy then. Is this going to be from Friday --> Sunday, Friday --> Saturday, or just Saturday.?
Thanks for the time and help.

Update:
I'm not sure if RX8 guys wanting us to join them or not..
I've just checked out their updated Itinerary (http://www.mazdanow.com/dragon2005/itinerary.htm) and there is no mentioning of us joining them for hanging out. Seems like they will be running the Dragon from 8AM to 6PM..
I just email them to see if they want us showing up. I'm at this point thinking they probably dont want us up there. I will keep you updated... but might be better for us to just wait until Spring 06'.

I think its becoming an issue of the carrying capacity of that stretch of road, especially if they are anticipating a large increase in participation over last year. You can only put so many cars on that stretch of hiway and still have a good driving experience. Not to mention the "tourists" and Harley cruisers on the road also.
With the 50 or so cars out there last spring mixing with the cruisers it was too crowded at times to really be fun. Think about having a couple of early morning runs next year on Saturday and Sunday to get ahead of the traffic. Doing the TOTD and the Cherohala Skyway drive, 133 miles 'round trip, is a great drive on some great roads. Did it on Sunday morning last year before the traffic got heavy and it was a blast.
Please let me know when you have the dates locked in for spring '06. Need as much time as possible to plan and get everything ready.

Have any of you guys ever been on that road this time of year? I dont think 20-30 of us showing up will make a noticeable difference. If the weather is nice that road will be bumper to bumper all the way up and down. We got lucky back in the spring because that was the calmest I have ever seen it on a nice day.

Why dont we just post on the Rx8 forum and see if they have any objections to us going. But yeah I dont think 20-30 of us is going to make much difference. Also its not like they are trying to make this a Rx8 only event as they have WRX's and others going with them as well.

Im almost 100% sure we dont mind you guys coming. The more the merrier. The event is definatly open to anyone. I have a berretta GTZ, sentra ser-v, and a 3000GT coming along with me. The itenerary is for the planned 'brotherhood of the dragon' events and thats it.
and i will also be bringing my 8 to you guys event in the spring... so haha

As mrthundercleese says above, the BOTD event is open to anybody. If you want to be a part of it, you can register HERE. Registration will close on August 31st since we must provide a final number for the Saturday night banquet 10 days beforehand.
If you want to hold a separate event at the same time and at the same place, then that's up to you, but you are more than welcome to join us.

mrthundercleese,
I just wanted to clearify one thing.
I do understand that the itinerary for BOTD is for those who signed up for BOTD.
I've talked to James on RX8 forum few months back and thought it was cool for us to meet up on saturday and us 7 owners showing little support. I guess when its only 2 weeks away and we don't see it on the itinerary it kind of make us wonder if we should even spend time and money to show up. I know I'll be spending over $100 on gas, $100 on lodging, and 1 day of vacation time to show and mingle with 8 owners for couple of hours.
At this point, I'm considering staying at home and trying to get my blk FD ready. Its been down for over 1 year now.. I don't want to be like SPO.. haha
