Chuck Westbrook PFC tuning class in Bham, AL 7/21 and 7/22/2007

I finally made it home at like 11:30 saturday night. First Marco's water pump went on his car and he lost all is coolant then I get about 10 miles from the GA AL boarder and a accident on a bridge embankment requires a helocopter to land on the freeway so it took about 4.5 hours to get home.

Now that I'm not half a sleep... I too want to say thanks to Chuck for allowing us to pick his brain!!! I must say that on my way home I did play around a little bit and got my knocks down from low 30s to sub 10s while cruising and still maintain 16.5 AFR for fuel economy!!!
Also, it was great meeting some new people and old folks again!! And dang it if I didn't already forget their handles... So guys PM me so I know who you are and your handles!!!

I saw him fixin' to take the picture so I decided to ruin it for him . I did it on purpose.
Helluva good time this weekend! I just wish my car was more presentable - it's in the garage with it's dirty no-headlight-cover self.
I've got a LOT of studying and work to do with all I learned this weekend - already have a few cool innovative ideas I want to work out .
Also great to meet everyone! Met a lot of new-to-me folks and many I've known on the forum but haven't met in person.
Gotta go, this forum time is cutting into my Harry Potter reading time .

The whole weekend was a new and fun experience for me. I hope you-all really learned something that will make you more confident when fine tuning your cars.
I want everyone to PM Phil with a honest critique of the class with any suggestions. He then can give me a summary without giving names. ?? ??
Being able to meet people with whom I have corresponed with was great. Now I can laugh each time I PM Dale as I picture him trying to be MJ.
After the newer notes are intergrated into the PFC/DL tuning guide, it will be sent to everyone.
Special thanks to Phil and Jenny for their hospitallity, especially since we stayed up until 4AM Saturday morning.

Sounds good Chuck!
I have to say, it was my pleasure meeting you Chuck and I felt that I've learned great deal! Once I'm settled back down I'm going to watch the video and try to take on bits that I've missed.
I think the seminar went well as we had great group of guys who also asked great questions... Especially Dale, Gianny, Jonathon, and Kenny. Maybe we should all get together again in 6 month for a weekend??
Also, Don't forget to post your questions on the MRCCAL.com
I'll email all of you with the access password.

I've also made a thread on PowerFC section of the forum about Westbrook tuning..
https://www.rx7club.com/power-fc-forum-47/chuck-westbrook-pfc-seminar-highly-recommended-673598/
Please post your thoughts about the class... And don't mind the comments about BDC. After I stayed away, he's being a "professional" and started to **** talk again.. i guess I hurt his little feeling.. Who knows, not that I give a **** as I would never need his service...
Here is another pics of the cars..

Hope the rest of you guys had a good time. Wish I could've been there to see some of ya'll. Dale, you look the exact same and I hope you're not still mad at me for dinging your passenger door 10 years ago.

Are you that blind and can't read what's been posted before??
And I love your "professional" attitude and saying **** like,
Oh, I won't be invited if it's something that Phil here organizes. He's still fuming mad that I stood up to him in public and called him on his abusive treatment of another forum member regarding his carbon fiber work. After all, even though there's probably plenty I could learn about the Datalogit software and PFC from Chuck as well as his seminar more than likely being a benefit to those that attended, the original intent behind the seminar was a machination of Phil's as a way of sabotaging my original tuning trip that was to take place in mid-late June. So, I doubt he's changed his mind about me since I've stood my ground.
Seriously "B"!,
I think you are now acting like "a little kid" (and I'll give you permission to use it just above your avitar and under your SN) getting on my thread and **** Talking about me.. if you think what you've said is the truth, than I guess you still haven't read the thread about Sonix7. Go back and read it and provide me with some hard evidence..
Here is the link (again!): https://www.rx7club.com/questions-about-members-102/i-would-never-do-business-sonix7-622796/page11/
Start from post #255 and look at the facts!
its like your head is just as thick as Rip off Jason Evans aka Sonix7... Or is it that you just don't like someone stepping up to you and prove you wrong.. LOL!! Someone who didn't get there little feeling hurt sure does like to get on other people's threads... LMAO!!
Again, Go listen to my advice. Shut the **** up and stop posting on my thread! Its 3x time I've asked! Unless you want me to return the favor, I would stop.. Again, just in case your thick head didn't understand (obviously you didn't), I have nothing to loose!! And as stated again and again, you are making yourself look like a dumbass keep trying to say otherwise!!
Sincerely, "Internet Pitbull"!... I mean, P LOL!

Ok, here I go: First, thanks Phil and Chuck for getting this together. Next, everyone knows that I'm new to tuning FDs and that I was probably the one at the seminar with the least amount of experience as I've only had a PowerFC since April. However, I still learned a lot, especially about the degrees of timing. Now, after owning a PFC for 3 or 4 months and attending one seminar am I comfortable with playing with the PFC and Datalogit by myself? No.
Aside from the time I love to spend with my wife and two boys, the RX7 is just a hobby for me but so is fishing, radio control airplanes and recently Jeep trail riding. So for me, I really don't have the time or the desire for that matter, to spend days on end breaking down every aspect of my FD to get it tuned perfectly. I know some might get mad at me for that but I really don't care. I enjoyed the seminar and recommend that others with the PFC attend any future seminars that Chuck puts on but for me I would rather have it tuned by a tuner (or any one of you guys that think you can tune my car) and then go from there with Chuck's notes and tune if I wish to.
I know that some will say that the seminar probably wasn't meant for me then since I'm not serious about tuning and that's fine to because again, I really don't care. I learned a lot, enjoyed it and would do it again but I also know where I stand with my "hobby" and it's something I choose not be 150% involved in because of other things I enjoy doing. Who knows, maybe I'll sit down one day and decide I want to read the shop manual from front to back and then play with the PFC and a Datalogit for days on end but I'm not there yet.
Anyways, thanks alot guys and I had a blast meeting some of you for the first time and others of you again. Even though I don't particularly care what people think about my view points, I do care for the friendships that I try to make and/or have with some of you and I hope that me not caring to be a "Master Tuner" doesn't exclude me from future events or gatherings.

Brad, I think alot people feel like you do. That is why there are tuners out there like BDC, Steve Kahn, etc. But like you said listening to Chuck will still help you be more comfortable if you decide you want to mess with tuning some or maybe trying different settings. If everyone wanted to tune theirself you would have alot of Chucks out there that spend the time to learn the PFC.

Brad, I understad where you are coming from... Its like people taking their car to a quick oil change because they don't want to get dirty.. or spend time getting the materials and doing it on their drive way.. But hope you also understand from the seminar that just getting a tune by a known tuner doesn't always mean its a correct tune for your car as the environment changes.. i think chuck made that point couple of times. I know I've mentioned this to some people, and that either you tune it yourself or by someone else, at least you now know more about PFC and tuning. Next time you get your car tune by someone else, you could at least know what they are doing and what they are not doing..
Either way, I don't take it personally as you haven't called me names Like Internet pitbull... LOL!

Brad, I here were you are coming from... I expect many feel the same.
I felt I got my money's worth and it was fun putting names and faces together.
I think I am in a differant ballgame then some of the others there. Tuning for high HP verse tuning for 300-350 is another game. So still not sure if I am willing to finish the tune for 25+psi. Maybe with some inside help from ***** **** it will work... Mike

I'd like to thank you Phil for letting us stay at your home, it was wonderful!
And YES we do have to get together again soon meh asian-brathah-from-anathah-mothah because I had a great time!! And Chuck, thank you so much for your time and knowledge that you shared with us. I appreciate what you did/are doing for me and all the rotary community. (And please forgive some of my longer discussions with you in the middle of the class ha!!!)
All in all I learned some good info and enjoyed the time spent with all the rotor heads there!

And not to drag out what I've already said but it's kinda like fishing. If I took most of you fishing you'd probably enjoy it by just using one rod&reel, throwing a line out with a grub on it and reeling it in, or throwing a line out with a floater on it and sitting back and waiting for it to go under...and you know what, you'd still catch fish. But I would take about 5 rods with 5 different types of bait using 5 different reeling techniques and probably wear myself out fishing and not catch the first the thing because I'm fishing for specific fish and size, but I'd still have a blast. It's just about how involved you want to get. That's all I'm saying

Brad,
I understand.. If that is what going to make you feel comfortable, thats what you need to do. Are you going to be able to make it to the BBQ on Aug 4th?
