Can Someone drive me and my father?
Here is my dilemma.
My car is currently residing in Simpsonville, South Carolina
I am in San Francisco, California
I will be flying down to pick up my car probably on Saturday the 9th of July. Anyhow, I don't really feel like driving the RX-7 cross country back to San Francisco so I was hoping that someone local can give me and my father a lift while hauling the car to San Francisco. Maybe a flat bed or some form of trailer I suppose. I will try and leave the airport on Friday night, and should arrive Saturday morning. I also must get back to San Francisco by Monday morning for work related reasons.
The deposition and destination is roughly 2600 miles apart....35 hours of driving straight if we drive around 75 mph average. We can switch drivers if one feels tired since we will have three people. I will bring my Satellite navigation system so we shouldnt get lost on the way. If we leave on Saturday morning, and drive straight back, we should make it back monday morning or earlier.
Shouldn't take more than 2 days to get back..about a day and a half
I will give you 1300 dollars for the troubles. Not bad considering it is only a day and a half
Anyone interested?
Thanks for reading

why would it be 4 dollars a mile? are you saying that the trip will cost 20,800 dollars
distance there and back would equate to 5200 miles x the 4 dollars a mile like you stated =20800 dollars...no thanks

Btw 5200 miles round trip is aprox 70 hours of straight driving at an average of 75. I'm thinking your going to have to drive your car out there or get off some more money, maybe find someone going that way empty that doesn't need to come back. Good luck with the trip.

you could arrange shipping for the car and have it shipped for around $1,000 or so....plus you'd save money on the plane ticket to SC...transporting it with a u-haul car trailer and and SUV for example will save you some money, figure around $330 for gas each way, $50 or so per day for the u-hual car trailer...just some ideas for you

thanks for all the help guys, The thing with shipping though is that there are so many unreliable people out there. My car has been sitting in the lot for 2 months now. It was supposed to be picked up by DAS (affiliated with ebay) but they didnt even assign the car a carrier after 3-4 weeks after I payed for it. I then looked for another shipper who made me wait a week and a half and then flaked. So now I am unsure of what action to take other than to go over there myself and bring it back.
edit: im thinking of transporting the car via train
