I believe that Key Biscayne is too close to Miami and it would not give us ample highway footage... whereas Key Largo is further out and we have more than 20 miles of Highway to cover..

Why dont we create a poll and see what people have to say...

The last sunday of May falls on Memorial Day weekend and people will be out of town so i would think we should move it to the first sunday in June...

I am old school still ...so I dont have a video that is on a memory card... will an 8mm tape do from my Sony Handycam ?

Max "12Akid" was videotaping while i was driving and he didnt have a steady hand .. so some footage is shaky

He will most likely be able to post it for everyone to download and save. Give him a little time to gather the raw material and edit it in the usual nice & professional DirectFreak style.

There has also got to be a way to get your 8mm footage on the computer, even I've done it before and I SUCK. You just need some kind of wire and some software like Windows Movie maker. I am guessing you may have some nice shots from the camera mounted in your pass. seat with the top down.....

 

i have some footage form my video camera.on the way up it taped good on the way back all blurry.maybe battery was low or sunlight.val has my number i can give it to him or i can meet up with you somewhere(directfreak).

 

we need to plan for a big trip to west palm. That would be more than enough for video footage!

I like Key Largo, but that is mostlty ONE Lane in and ONE Lane Out.

This way we can start in Kendall, Meet at Dolphin mall, Meet at towers, and then REALLY Caravan up there. I'll probably get a hotel room, and stay there overnight for the early morning races the next day.

 

If you can set up your camera to play to a TV (Via RCA inputs/outputs)

I could go over to your shop and copy your tape straight to DVI (my format) on
my camera.

 

What is there to do at Moroso ?

When I used to race professionally back in 1991-1992 I didnt remember there being a place to hang out and have a BBQ...

I used to race a GSXR and a ZX-9.. draggin' my knees with a puck on the asphalt... What a rush... 140, 150, 160, 172 MPH
and then one rainy day i lost traction and fell off my bike going over 100+ ... it was nice and wet so it didnt hurt that bad... just got hot .. a little hot.. I think I still have footage of the two falls that i have had... on one fall I ENDO.. right over the front fairing... poor soul that I ran over though... just one of those things that were unavoidable at the time.

Many moons ago... about 40 lbs less body weight too... My shop was called Exotic Sportbike Int'l based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.... ESI Racing... but I would come down to race in Miami... or rather West Palm Beach...

KEY LARGO IS ONE LANE WHILE WESTPALM IS 4 LANES PLUS ITS KINDA LIKE A MINI RALLY FOR ALL THE RX-7's. great for video





but the questions mind on some of us is either can my car make it up there.
and there are some that might not want to drive their fd up there

NOPI sounds like the better plan at this point. I say this quivering because last time we did NOPI the weather was terrible and I did some mudding in my FD. Not a good experience.
