SakeBomb Garage - Upcoming GB's

Is there anything you guys want to see on sale so we can plan ahead for the next few months? I think it's better to ask if there's anything in particular the community is interested in putting together.

Vote, discuss, or just post your favorite animated GIF

There's actually a lot on the site I want and do plan on getting in the future, but the most crucial thing for me at this point is actually a car cover. I would love to see that for a GB.

Hey everyone!

Car covers: Can do! We'd need to hit 25 to get GB pricing, but winter is coming so hopefully we can get enough people on board with the bad weather approaching! Add your names and we'll put a link up for a GB on the covers.

High Performance Car Covers

Ex. SakeBomb - Gray - 99 Spec with wing
1.
2.
3.
4.

Oil filter pedestals: Sure thing, 10 people on board we can get them down to $145! Sign up if you're interested:

Oil filter pedestal:
1.
2.
3.

HID and Handles - Unfortunately we can't discount either of these at the moment.
HID Headlights: We've got a couple from the last run of headlights but after these are sold that's it, for now at least. The price of the HID kits will be going up in the future as they take more time to assemble now vs previously due to changes in the manufacturing processes for the housings. We also are at a loss for time to make them as we focus on other projects, and to build them we essentially have to shut down for weeks to hand build them. This is becoming harder and harder for us to do so I can't say how much longer we'll continue to make them. Long story short if there's a huge demand we can do another GB but for now there's just a couple kits left over from the last run, and no plans to do another run of these at the moment.

Handles: We just finished a very tiny 30 piece run of the door handles, and ran a GB on them. When they're in stock they trickle out the door slowly, but since we've sold nearly 500 of them to date, I think it's getting to the point where everyone that needs a cast handle currently has one. They will never fail so it's a finite product, and there's just not enough demand/volume to keep casting these. Foundries work in the hundreds to thousands, and a 30 part run is really hard to convince them to do. Unfortunately we may be at the end of the production life for the cast door handles. We made 10 extra to put into inventory but after that there will be no more to sell (the group buy topped out at 20 people or so). Get them while you can, they'll be NLA soon

SBG IGN-1A PnP Coil Kits:
We have a group buy planned for these and will post the link in here shortly. We're running it on RX8Club as well for the RX8 version... if we hit 25 between the two forums we can get the FD kit price down to $625!! Add your name if you're interested

SBG IGN-1A PnP Coil Kits:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.

SBG Electric Water Pump Kits:
We got a number of emails about running another GB on these. These have been performing exceptionally well, and we're gearing up for another GB along with the release of our RX8 Kit. If you guys are interested in another GB on the EWP kits let us know:

I think I might be in the minority, but the oil coolers... I wouldn't mind a group buy on those suckers. The last major component to complete on my FD.

whoa whoa, slow down

but yeah I got two PM's for coolers as well, we can put something together for the coolers. I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this since there's so many different pieces people are interested in. Most likely we'll just post one group buy thread for each item, and set some end dates and minimum numbers, does that seem logical to everyone?

I'm game for that. I'm looking for the 25row for the standard 93 bumper. Standard hoses is enough.
I might want to send you a pic of the engine bay clearance. Worried about the oil regulator (?). Sits really close to my rad in its present configuration. Not to sure if there's enough room before it starts rubbing up against other components

Oil coolers for the standard 93 front bumper. Recent track day at Sonoma says I need more cooling.

......you need both the larger coolers and larger bumper air inlets.

'99 openings are substantially larger than '93. Park two FDs next to each other and you'll be pretty surprised

If you're running hot at the track and already have R1 coolers, it's probably ducting that you need.
I also have a '93 and go to the track a lot. Proper ducting, a 3pass Koyo, some water wetter and and oversized SMIC and I'm running nice and cool, even at Buttonwillow in the summer.

Now about that Laguna Seca sound booth...That's a different story.

On topic, I'd definitely be interested in a Noah cover GB depending on price...Noah or whichever one works best in the rain.

Dual 25 rows and an aluminum radiator for 100 degree weather at Buttonwillow did great for us If you put a Setrab core next to the stock cores, it's pretty apparent. The Setrabs have way more surface area, finer fins and more rows per inch, and tiny turbulance fins before each row (and they're thicker).

The Setrabs are simply much more efficient coolers, and larger to boot. Not to try to talk anyone into buying our kit, if you want to DIY it we're all for that, but the Setrab cores are significantly better than anything else out there and miles better than stock. They're used as OEM by AMG, and are heavily used in professional racing

The Noah fabric is more of an indoor/outdoor. It's water resistant outside, and has some cushion for garage mishaps indoors and is dust proof. For outdoor use the Weathershield HP is hands down the best... it will last the longest, it's virtually water and dust proof, and can be washed in your home machine with a cup of simple green to clean the dirt off and restore it's water-shedding properties. It packs away much smaller than the Noah as well.

I would say for mixed indoor and outdoor go with the Noah fabric because of the added cushioning, but for an outdoor rain, dust, UV protection, etc the Weathershield HP wins hands down. We only use the Weathershield for all our shop cars that stay outdoors... but hey who are we kidding, we're not getting rain any time soon here in CA

If you actually price out all of the coolers, thermostat, hose, fittings, junctions, seals, hardware, then fabricate all of the brackets and lines, you'll be out close to the same amount of money but an absolutely ridiculous amount of your time, sweat, and most likely blood . It took many iterations to get the brackets, hose length, hardware list, and all the bits and pieces standardized so it actually fit. I'd say just the instructions alone will save you countless hours... to be completely honest, it seems simple on paper but it's not easy to simply whip a cooler kit together.

We don't sell this to make money, or we'd be charging way more... we sell this to make adding a dual oil cooler kit a straight forward install for fellow FD owners instead of staring at a pile of components
