On the bottom of the thread above there is a photo showing spider cracks.

To Sake, are you guys aware of this problem where the projector lens cracking? I certainly wouldn't want this to happen to the light I am buying.

^ Yes we are aware, and this was only an issue on the very first run of these that we did.

^^SakeBomb Garage FD3S PremiereLine Bi-Xenon HID kit

Go directly here... we're almost out but there are still a few left. The group buy deposit page is now closed but you can still pay directly for the GB price by clicking the link above.

One left!

We're closing this GB down early as we're literally out of components to build these out of... we've grabbed every last set of components we can. Sorry to close it early everyone, but for those that have signed up and paid, thank you for you support and we will work as efficiently as possible to build/ get these out to you guys!

Thanks again, the SBG team!

If you look at the units when they are retracted, they are directly above the oil coolers in a R1.
For non R1 the driver side has this problem. This may be the cause or part of the cracking problem. This was mentioned in one thread.

I made aluminum blocking plates for both sides in my R1. They keep the hot exit air from coming up into the housing area.
Then the whole area has self adhering woven fiberglass insulation on top of that. This keeps and high heat away from the units.

We've started in on them, and will post pics as we go. Since the group buy tripled in size it's going to take longer than originally anticipated, but we've already got a head start on them. We'll post pictures and updates as we progress, but we're splitting headlights currently and are in the process of shutting down non-essential operations to convert over to headlight making for a few weeks. I'm estimating a few weeks at this point.

Make template out of paper, cut aluminum, and either glue in or use strong 2 sided tape which I did.

No picture of installed insulation. Over the metal.
