FL Direct fire write up (not diag. box)

so this is one of my first write ups. I looked all over and found most people were using the diagnostic box to run direct fire and the AEM sakebomb coils but didn't see and write ups with pics (and I learn by pics). I wanted to run a wire directly from the ecu to the connector with the jump wire. This is how I did it and take no responsibility for yours.

P.S. this is just how I did it but there are other ways and prolly easier ways.

I have a rywire harness and it is wired with the OMP, my current set up does not use the omp so I just have it hanging around in the engine bay. well I went and took the connector and a wire off of my OMP and made a piggyback wire. here is how I went about doing it.

1. de pin all of the wires in the stock OMP connector.

2. cut one of the wires to the length you need it. (also you can just depin the other end if you want to save it but im not ever going back to OMP so I just cut it)

3. find a connector that can clip into the supplied connector from sakebomb.

4. wire the end of the wire with that connection (don't forget to add plug and shrink wrap to it before this step.

5. reinsert the OMP side of the wire back into the OMP connector and reinsert the retaining clip

6. take your new end and put it in the sakebomb harness

7. cut the purple jump wire

8.connect the OMP harnesses together

9. recheck which wire you replaced and find its location in the ECU harness. Then depin this from the ECU and move it to Ignition Output # 4 is pin 1I (igloo)

in my case I moved it from pin 4K to 1I.

change the settings in adaptronic or what ever your using and off you go.

Hope this helps someone or gives you an idea of how you can do it using a non-used wire in the ECU. Thanks for reading and comments welcome.

Hey thanks a million for doing this. Sadly, we have a ton of those pins here and can supply the males/females crimped with a weatherproof boot to a strand of milspec wire for FREE with anyone's kit ... just ask!!

I wish it was a little easier to set up with the adaptronic but they are limited by outputs so it takes a little fiddling! As soon as we have more t-shirt or windshield banners just remind me and I'll send one off to ya. A for effort and thoroughness!

Now anyone want to do an FC writeup

Cant get the OMP to de-pin for the life of me. Pulling up on the tabs, but the wires won't pull out the back. Anyone else have a problem?

*nvm the weather packing portion was corroded to the side of the connector. had to pull the **** out of it with a pair of pliers.
