Anyone interested in a V mount intercooler?
#26
I am using the same v- mount on my car for a few months now. Excellent combination, awsome temperatures ,if i could only make a friendly suggestion ,since the intercooler has to be upside down to fit inside the engine bay you have to make the out put hall bigger, since originaly is the input hall and it is smaller it can not keep the pressure on high boost !I´ve changed it with a 3" hall and pipe and its the best!
If you´re interested i could post a foto tommorow!

Here are some pictures of the radiator setup. Im still looking for a good intercooler core to use. Anyone have any ideas? Once I find one I can have these done in a day.

Just a thought though.. will you guys consider fully weld up the entire top so it looks like a big rectangle. right now the triangle shaped indentation might be a bit harder to duct the rear/top end of the radiator.
i briefly drew some lines on ur pic to show what i'm talking about

I can find intercooler cores but its the endtanks Im having trouble locating. At least ones that would work. If I have to fab our own endtanks it will drive the price up a lot. Trying to avoid that and make a resonably priced V mount.

i'll have to check out the placement of the RE IC again. maybe it wouldn't matter if the bottom of the IC core is sitting close to or touching the radiator core (not radiator end tank). Reason i brought it up cuz for the KS kit, if there's gap like that, it'll let some air escape between the IC and radiator.

I have looked at Bell Intercoolers but just for the core and endtanks it would be around $800. That would put these kits well over $2k and Im trying to avoid that.
Here are some pics of the completed radiator setup mounted in the car.

Here are a few shots of the setup if we turn the core around. It fits a lot better this way and creates a good seal at the radiator so air wont escape. We are going to rotate the inlet and outlet around so its more of a direct shot. Its also possible to mount a small battery behind the intercooler on the cross brace.

If we use the Greddy intercooler I can probably keep the price in the $1600 range. Im looking into a smaller core, but its probably going to put the price around $2000.
I will post some pics tomorrow of the modified Greddy.

Yeah radiator setup looks good. It might as well be easier to just purchase a new Koyo with the bracket setup rather than sending you an old radiator and dealing with the shipping hassle.
This will keep PS and AC correct?

hey great kit, i was looking at buying the knightsport one but i think i'd rather go with your guyses one. I was just wondering about what aftermarket intakes would fit for stock twins (hks, greddy, apexi, etc.)?

looks good. I like the greddy core flipped. Makes the setup look like the HKS vmount kit except more practical with the 2 row than 3. plus ducting won't be much of a issue other than the side walls since the IC covers all the way across. Although extending the battery wires to mount PC680 horizontally on the cross brace may be a hassle unless you guys are going to offer wire extensions as well. Maybe it could be an optional package to include battery+mounting hardware as well?? just a thought...
