This sucks... Rx-8 hit my FD
This happened a long time ago but I just found the pics. A moron ricer was tailgating an Rx-8 pretty bad. The lady in the 8 freaked out and made a sudden turn, hitting the side of my car. I was wondering if at least some of it could be pulled out since I do not have money for body work and also can't be without my car for several days right now. This sucks donkey *****.

Wait...so this happened a "long time ago," but you still haven't fixed it?!? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I gathered from reading your post.
That sucks, but as long as you and her had insurance you all should be fine.

Why didn't you have the lady's insurance who hit you pay for the fix as well as a rental car while it's being fixed?

Some of this may be able to be knocked out, but the sheet metal on the FD's is really thin, which won't be easy to get the factory profile back easily. If you aren't experienced knocking out dents you'll probably wind up causing youselft a bigger headache with the damage that you "fix".

A woman driving an 8, go figure but yeah, why isnt her insurance paying for it? I would take her to court if there was an issue where it wasnt getting paid for... It wasnt YOUR fault was it?

Yup, I didn't want to come out with it but you guys got me. I was mad as hell, but had to forgive her. Some **** sucker riceboy was already on her *** pulling up to my house, then he spotted the FD and totally lost whatever little common sense ricers come with. He went to pass her in a community with a 10 mph speed limit. She turned a little earlier than she normally does and well...you know the rest.
Those of you that are married might understand, when **** happens you can't just do whatever you want, or you'll hear about it FOREVER. (which is worse)
I basically just wanted to know if it can be pulled out a little for now. I'll let the body guys at work do the "paintless dent repair" **** to some parts of it if possible. Thanks

That aint gonna be easy to get at if you are inexperienced with repairing body panels. I would leave it for someone who knows what they are doing because it is so easy to end up making it look worse than it already does.

haha
I think that also goes along with the general statement that women can't drive. Normal operation of a vehicle they can handle, but throw some **** (or a ricer in your case) at them, and they lose all focus.
Either way, my wife would have told me it was my fault I got hit, bc I was too close to her and I knew she was gonna turn. I should have been hit.
I can hear it now....
Your insurance will go up, but it would have been an easier task just to have gotten them to do it. You would have just had to be EXTREMELY careful of how the police report got worded. You wouldn't want Careless & Reckless anywhere on it.
Just go around and get quotes, find out what you're dealing with, then make her help you pay for it.

first of all bro paintless dent repair is not gonna work for that much damage, pd repair is for smaller size dents not to fix cars which are sideswiped by other cars. THAT is called getting your fd totalled. You can purchase a new door skin (outer shell) and driver rear quarter for cheaper than you think from Malloy Mazda 1888533-3400 ask for Ray in case you dont know him already,he's the parts manager AND an fd owner i believe each piece was in the 120ish range. This is one of those repairs where the labor cost can*and will add up to much much more than the cost of parts... so DIY!. The door skin you can do yourself it is put together by bending the edges of the skin and using seamsealer, however the rear quarter is of course welded in.You weld or Have any friends who weld? The process is time consuming but Very possible to DIY if you weld or have a friend willing to put a few welds. I've done it before in front of my house thats how I know

I agree that most women can't drive very well. I also know that Ray is a great guy, done lots of business with him in the past. Thanks for all the advice on repairing it. Yeah the ricer got away, anyways they are everywhere and can't be controlled.
I am going to get a quote from my job's body shop, maybe I can work something out (I know at least two of them want their trucks tuned). Oh well....

now you have to get another one as soon as you can afford it,. then sell your slightly dinged one.
if you are attached to your current car, transplant its soul into a new shell.
The door is gonna be the cheapest part to replace, and it may never look right unless the whole side can be cut from another car and graphed into the damaged area... like was written above, the metal isnt thick enough for remolding or popping.. and mud is just extra weight.

And I understand about it being hard to fix, but I am not sure if it looks worse in the pics than real life. I am not going to total a '95 R2 with 41k miles for a large dent in the rear quarter and a crinkled door. I'll settle for the "mud" before that.

Guess you got rid of all your Rotary toys except the '95.
Hope this one stays around, you seem to be getting out of the Rotray game little by little.....
YES. I know who you are since we are here in the same area... LOL LOL
