Hinson's interior is pretty much all there, I could drive it 1500 miles A few pics I took from our bastard 7 meet in mississippi on memorial day.

That mazfix car is equally impressive, being an irs/ small tired car. I wonder what diff, axel and rear suspension setup they use to hook like that...

Any car that can drive on the street and turn 8's at the strip deserves respect. Hat's off to both owners!

Now that Mazfix car is VERY IMPRESSIVE in my book. No rear tubbing, just stock IRS.

im pretty sure it is a backhalf. i dont see how you could put the power hinson is making to the ground without some wide tires and a backhalf.

these guys are running on gas (c16) without juice....c'mon guys give it up to the little 1.3L, they can run almost as hard as the big boys and still be some what reliable..
i think the most reliable, consistant drag 13b is Pica racing... i've only seen them change a motor once and that was in vagas a few months ago...in PR,NJ or FL they run on the same motor all day with consistant 7.4's...
not because of almost all of the rotary builders u & i know cant tune/build a 900hp 13b to last over 5 passes on a hot NJ sunday doesnt mean that its impossible..there are a handfull of guys around the world thats doing it and they are doing it consistant & reliable...joe"party time"perez made over 700hp 5 years ago on gas (c16) with a 13b...there are guys out there that many of us havent herd of thats making huge power from a 13b..
BTW we havent even mentioned the 20b yet, but thats a different animal

Yeah we just made 1377rwhp through an auto with spray but that's with $20 per gallon import. On gas it gets expensive real quick with the higher power #'s.....that is unless you have the displacement.

dawg im refuring to a mazda 13b 1.3L on c16 making 700 hp 5years ago, im not talking about a 5-6L v8 ...that little 12a is running just as hard as the v8 and hes using a 27x9 tire with full glass and full steel body...just imagine if they mini tubb it with a 1000hp 20b, hmmm
the 8.22 by the street driven v8 is great and im not knocking their effort but they have cars with less cubes & less tire running similar times...now if this car wasnt tubb and he was running those times with a smaller motor then i'll really shake their hands, but for the mean while it aint that immpressive because there are boosted mustangs on a small tire running high 7's...
now to go thru all the stress of a v8 conversion and run similar times as the 13b u just wanked out gotta hurt...dont mentioned reliabilty, cuz we know the v8 has a slight upper hand but the fact is that give the right tuner/builder a 13b and he'll make it competitive & almost as reliable, notice i said almost...hes a tuner, not god ;-D

Not impressed!
I'v seen boosted big blocks make more power on pump gas!
What a waste of fuel!

I wonder if VP is going to lower their price on fuel soon being that the price of pump gas have dropped in the last couple of weeks.

My distributor was telling me that he wouldn't be suprised if they sell off the company soon. He was saying that they've been firing all the big wigs and they've priced themselves out of the market. They're gas prices are ridiculous.

Nobody can touch the C-16, though.

Yeh its fast

Yeh its fast, but I think its more of a challenge to build a rotary and make it go that fast. Yeh, a v8 will make more power its a freaking 7.0 liter!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (guessing) I personally know a guy running mid 7 sec in the 1/4 on a stock engine. Yeh a 1.3.

You are quite off... Most V12 engines aren't even close to being that big! The displacement of an LS1 is 5.665 liters to be exact.

Unlike with a rotary, you can't just assume that a V8 is still at stock displacement. Bore & Stroke?

But 7.0 liters is stretching it, especially for an LS1.

The ls1 in the hinson car is a 402 aluminum block. Not 7.0 liters.
