Some pics of my bugeye WRX
Hey guys,
I thought I'd share some pics of my 2002 WRX.
I took these pics last Saturday at the Midwest Annual Subaru Shootout: BTW we were rained out so no one got to run
For those that are interested the car made 341awhp on 93 octane. Best ET was a 12.5 @ 110mph with a 1.9 60ft (I was having boost issues coming off the line, but now I'm retuned and was not able to run this past Sat because of rain)
Anyways on to the pictures
Finally got some Brembos...
A little protection from flames...
There are a ton more parts on the way. I have 05 wrx taillights that have recently been installed. I have a carbon fiber trunk lid on the way (going to paint the roof gloss black), a genuine Sti grill, hopefully I'll have enough for the LSD rear diff and rear Brembos.
Anyway enjoy and tell me what you guys think,

BTW - Just as a lil precaution, its never good to post pics with your plates showing. Just an FYI.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys.
eatmyclutch- The hood is a Kaminari reverse cowl carbon fiber hood.
SayNoToPistons- The FD belongs to a friend of mine. I'm sure he's a member on the boards, he is no longer rotary he did a LS1 swap. It sounds wicked coming down the street LOL. He throws a lot of people off with the sound.

there will always be a special place in my heart for theWRX, lol. if i ever buy a newer car, that is what i would get, but probably an 04-05.
I hate teh 06 altezza style, not sure why subaru decided to go with those. It looks so much better with the 05 tails

I agree 100%. Subaru made a horrible decision putting altezzas on the 06 wrx and sti's. The funniest things is a lot of people with the 06 altezzas are trying to get their hands on either 04-05 taillights. It's hilarious. I love how my 05 taillights look, it give the car a lot more class. And I did a partial JDM mod where the circles light up as my parking lights at night.
I'm happy to see non-subaru owners can appreciate my work of art (IMO) and I appreciate all the positive feedback,

i really like those headlights, i like only the models that come with those bug style headlights, i really don't like the later headlight models on sti's and wrx's. if i ever get a hand on a subaru its going to be a 2002-2003. i may get one because im getting bored driving an automatic all week lol.

Got a bit of a stupid question. Why (I know I'm going to get slapped for this.) didn't you start out with an STi? Cost, or was it because you knew you could whip an STi's *** if you worked on your WRX? I'm interested in WRXs because they seem like really fun cars, but I was just wondering about modded WRX vs. STi. (Flame suit on.)

If someone asked my advice on which vehicle to buy now for modding purposes I would recommend a Sti any day just because it comes pretty hooked up from the factory.
The best setup to want if money is not an issue is the GC8 impreza, which were the two door Impreza that had the Naturally Aspirated 2.5L motors. Those suckers only weigh 2600lbs with full interior from the factory. Do a complete driveline swap (JDM V7 6 speed along with the R180 rear diff) and do either JDM V7 motor or if you want to go crazy a built Sti motor with a GT35R and you will be in the low 9's if not 8's with proper driving. I got goosebumps just thinking about it.

Looks nice. I had a suby for awhile. They are definetly fun and the extra room is very cool. I might go back to one eventually. Great daily driver. .... ... ... but I must build my monster FB first.

For some odd reason I had the WRX pegged as a car that had been around a little longer than since 2002. (No I haven't bothered to do full research on the car tonight since I had an RX-7 issue earlier today and want to go to sleep.) Believe it or not, after this problem today, the WRX is all I had on my mind. I see one in my future very soon, but not those ugly new ones; I can't stand those damn noses on the new ones.
