The side skirts are pretty ugly, and I hate glass roofs, but I owned a 944 turbo(951) and they are Junk. JUNK JUNK JUNK. The only good Porsche, is one flipped upside down on the freeway after being involved in a multiple car pile up.

porsche is an outstanding company and if anyone who is ignorant enough to state that their craftsmanship is junk must wipe there *** with 20$ bills.
I LOVE the FC but mazda totally copied the lines of the 944 and 924. Our version looks much better but if it wasn't for the "****" porsches our FC's would look quite a bit different.

that is a pretty silly statement. porsche is a bench mark for performance. A company that believes in racing and holds numerous first place finishes, over 200+ . hater!!! must keep getting beat by them or something

I agree. Either that's the case or the guy is a poor car owner / doesnt know how to work on them

I'll tell you what. I owned the car after my first FC and while I wasn't new to cars or working on them I was still greener than I am now. I had the car for 9 weeks. I was able to drive it for three. Something broke, I fixed it, something else broke. I waited for parts, fixed it, then it broke down again. When it ran, it was a decent sports car, not a benchmark, not something spectacular, just a decent over all sports car. I also found that Porsche owners only like other Porsche owners that drive slower than them. Anyone faster is a threat
But I do have one thing that I hear most of you lacking. Experience. I owned one, but have you? Do YOU get beat by them all the time and think"Wow, thats a fast car! I have to Have on!" So, until you own one, keep quiet when you don't know.

^Considering you're speaking of the worste Porsche ever made, you really don't have much room to talk. The 944 was the "poor mans porsche", nothing more. They were heavy, slow, and unlike any other model made by porsche.

That contradicts the benchmark statement, and a Porsche is a Porsche no matter what number. Unlike any other, I think not. The regular 944 was a 924s in an updated body but the turbo was a different beast. And my statement still stands. Go buy one, then get back to me.

I'm just stating my opinion. Yeah I was in your face about it, but I HATE Porsches. I think they're over rated and have seen many a Porsche owner show up to an Auto-X or track day in full race gear and then get walked on by just about everyone driving. I don't like them, but I never said you couldn't. Saying I'm ignorant when it comes to said opinion, however, is an oxymoron. Sorry guys, you're doing what my Username says.

944
The 944 was a bad car. Heavy, slow, and soft suspension. The car was tested against the n/a rx7 and lost overall. I personally agree with Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear that their dashes are plain and boring however I will not bash on porsche for making a handful of bad cars even ferrari has made some as well but I don't going around hating on them. As far as the owners at auto-x that's them the owners don't make the car. Proof Sabine is passing people in a ford transit van on Nurburbring with some very pricey cars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lg4a1rc4Xjk All in all you'll always get haters by mixing parts whether they look good or not.

I like porsche owners for the most part, all the wons that autox and do track days are usually decent people, its mostly the ones who dont really know what they have that are *** holes. and the only problem with old porsches is that its old. they break get over it.

The local Porsche people have always been very nice to me. Even with the "wrong" motor in my car. Usually the quickest car at any El Paso autoX events is a '74 911 driven by "Wild Bill". He will do anything to help any driver no matter what they are driving. His driving skills are unbelievable.
The 944 was never intended to be an all out race car. The 928 was even less of a race car. But it was nicer on long trips.
Also, keep in mind what years some of these cars were made. Compare a 911 or even a 944 to anything detroit (or Japan) was making at the same time. The Japanese have come a long way since the mid seventies!
