Old video-Going 165mph in My FD
This was a little bit before I decided to start the rebuild. Only at 11psi of boost on a low compression motor.

Nice, i dont like that road that you were driving on however.
It seems soo random, like anything can pop out from the side, whether animals, people, cars etc. Then when you passed the truck, there was a small intersection that a car can turn onto the same road you're going on. What if some idiot just turned and you clip him at 165??
Lets just say you wouldnt be posting this vid now LOL.
Just be careful on what roads you go top speed on man.

I thought dave died doing mtn runs, but dangerous street driving none the less.
Cool video, and I noticed the guy on the sidestreet too.
165 is pretty damned fast. I've been 130 in my t2 w/ dp only. I think she wouldve done 140, probly 145 w/ some time.

Techno is much more fun to listen to though.
Ya it could have been safer but I made sure no one was on the road. As you can tell there was only one person on it and it was the one I passed.
I do travel down the road alot and have been able to notice if someone is about to pull out. Not trying to make excuses but I know it was pretty dangerous. I am much more safe now, like the title say's "OLD VIDEO"
It was very funny though a little while after the video stopped. I was slowing down and saw a car on side of the road that was pulled over by a cop. I didn't want to slam on the breaks but I passed them going about 100.
The road was a freshly paved road so safety of the road was okay.
That was the first time I did a high speed run on that road. The previous runs were only about 120-135. I wanted to stay in the right lane because then there is only one entrance to the right lane.
I normally do runs like that down a road where there are no entrances.
tubb's-The wipers didn't start to shake or anything. Everything on the car was in perfect shape. The person filming just had the camera facing forward and kept monitoring my PFC just in case something went wrong. Boost ended up at about +.83 on the PFC. I think thats something between 11psi and 12. I had new springs on as well so the ride was so firm.
After I watch this video now about 50 times while my engine is in the process of a rebuild and me going single, it makes me very excited to get back on the road to see what a high compression motor and 15 psi of boost with around 400hp will do instead of mine that was low compression and only ~11psi with ~290-300hp. I'm looking to go 180mph. That's what I'm really going for.

I might be out of line because I don't know your driving background but I noticed your 18 and I would wait before going 180 let alone 165. Don't take any offense I'm only 19 and wouldn't even think about going anywhere near that fast (maybe I'm a little cautious). I can't imagine doing that on a open road then again I'm not you, have fun but do it safely (man I sound like an old man). Cool run though.

Ya I know. I'm 18. Over the past 2 years of owning it I've kinda got a grip on the car. Every time I do a different upgrade I take it out to a lot in all weather conditions and purposely spin out and get in control just to make sure I can. I know there are millions of situations and variants that could happen on the road but I think I'm way more prepared than the average FD owner. Hell my dad is 56 and he almost loses it sometimes. I tell him "Ok when you take this corner you can't even go half throttle". One time on my way to Dallas it was raining and my 20 year old brother was driving my FD and we were taking a entrance ramp (from a higher elevation to a lower sharp right turn) and I told him "your going to spin it slow down....don't give any gas at all until your straight". He didn't listen, he gave it gas about 3/4 the way down and almost lost it.
To going at high speeds...If you don't wanna go fast or look good then why own an FD? I like to go fast. Yet I still haven't gotten a speeding ticket. I'm a human radar detector. Why not go 165? Push the car to its limit. But sometimes you are limited to where you do it at. Like I said though "OLD VIDEO"
I respect your words Specter

I don't agree that being older makes it any better an idea to go fast.
I recently took the owner of the corner store near my house, a recent immigrant to Canada from China, for a ride in my skyline. I proceeded to scare the living crap out of him in a straight line at a whopping 60kph (Though we got to 60 pretty quickly). He's something like 40 years old. Age doesn't mean much, and experience on the road doesn't necessarily come with age. Experience on the road comes with knowing your car inside and out, and driving hard frequently and knowing its limits is what builds experience.
I do think that in the future a better road would be more suitable for runs like that though. Something with no driveways and side-roads attached to it.
