New project with my mazda rx7 1998
Good afternoon.
I have a car mazda rx-7 1998.
I noticed that the radio started to work badly, and I wanted to change something in my car for a long time.
I began to look and understood that the best way to put a good android stereo. I started to look around on the internet.
Found a few good options. Wanted to know if you may have installed something similar? I guess the most importent here is the size of the unit ?
What should I ask before buying one?
Is there maybe any specifics? 🤔
Want chenge everything make some uniq car)
My central console looks just like this one.

Very nice if you snagged a car that looks that clean!
can’t remember if the later specs are true double din. My 95 (rhd) came with a double din unit, with the plastic divider cut
They make single din radio, with double din screens if you don’t want to cut.
To fit a double din fit, cut the divider. My dash was all cracked and poorly done. (Fix w/ ABS cement for pipes)
The ADT-VA133 universal double din kit from Pioneer fits the slot perfectly. This comes with the U shaped tools you need to remove the oem unit btw.
Metra 70-7901 Harness kit is perfect. Has one extra wire in it (my JDM adapter didnt have this wire, doesn’t matter) = plug and play.
I went with a 6.2” Pioneer. Fits the kit perfectly. Installed the rear tray from the Install kit as well. Wiring is tight fit, I would trim the metra adapter wires down. Most 6.2-6.8” screens will fit.
Good crimps or solder/heat shrink, don’t burn your car down from bad wires.
Good Luck!
