Dude, i'm sure you can rent one for pretty cheap. Why raise the risk of dropping the motor on your fenders, radiator, hands/feet, friends, the ground just to save a few bucks? I got one from a place that rents tractors for pretty cheap and it was collapsable. Meaning I drove it home in my FC.

yep. I probably rent one, this guy wants to rent to me for 2 weeks, 50 bucks. I think it sounds fair, just dont have that much money right now, I need to go pick it up and drop it off.

Those pics were hella funny though. I laughed my *** off!

Still want those pics.

I agree with renting a picker, that's not something you want to try to rig up by any means. You can sometimes find them for less than $100 to buy.

you can buy one for under $200... you can use it multiple times too. I know someone that built one out of steel piping. drilled holes and bolted it together.

+1 on just buying one. They are cheap, you can rent them out to friends, and you'll have it forever. If I didn't have access to about 5 hoists I would have definitly bought one by now!

heh, This one's kinda close to what you're talking about. That's a custom e-brake.

My dad actually pulled an engine w/ a tree and some chain. Of course, that was 35+ years ago and he was like 20. we have a cherry picker now, $150, worth it.

If I didn't have the convenience of a COOL *** guy to let me borrow a cherry picker and jackstands, I would have done it how they did it. with a tree branch, some bricks as jackstands, and ropes to pull it out, it is not that heavy between 4 ppls.

Its amazing what a few guys can come up with when they dont got a engine hoist. Id have to say the funniest though would have to be the engine from the tree. LOL!
