Haven't done anything anywhere near as foolish since then, and haven't pushed my car to that extent since then, except for the track.... it's funny how events like that make you think about your priorities....

Well age, maturity, and experience all come into play with that. The culminating factors were that I was over confident that I could handle the turn at a descent clip approx 80 mph, and I could have, had someone not pulled over just a little while before, peeled out from off the side of the road, and left dirt and pebbles on the road (in the turn), and I slid off...
So Overconfidence, and bad circumstance = Overly Bad for FD
