The "fastest" S2000 ever built
Check this video out. Some shop in Florida. They even show their attempt at an FD which they rag on saying its "Crapo." Good looking s2000 but failures in the rotary world IMHO.

Didnt like how they said crapo rotary but who can blame them?
We have a reputation for a reason.
And at least they put a GOOD engine in there. It will haul ***. Not around turns anymore but nothing like good suspenion and a good driver cant fix.
Haul *** on the straights and have the good ol agility of the s2000 in the corners.

im shure that car with 30 psi will be fast but he cant tune a rotary if hes a honda mechanic a fully raced 13b tt only 450 hp man a t2 can push 550 if u know what your doing 13tt can do alot more there was a vid with 750...

what did they say...16k for the swap....when you could just take the s2k's motor out and have golden eagle build the damn thing ...and put anywhere from 9psi to 40 psi to it...be just as fast if not faster....save some money....
i almost bought a s2k but when i sat in it my knees hit the steering wheel...thats what i was a afraid of when i was looking for an FD....but here i am with a 93 and loving it....

well the engine is going to upset the weight distribution... that big 6 is heavier and sits farther up than the stock f22. kind of defeats the purpose of putting the 2jz in an s2000... there are some boosted 600hp s2000s with stock engines, and they still handle like on rails.

Lmao @ 450 in the crapo rotary why don't they learn to tune and put in the right parts first. They say the FD is the same weight as the S2K I hardly believe that considering it's a 150 lb difference between our touring and their base. Funny how their using a supra motor in it though. Hmmm they say alot of Fab went into it why don't look a 20B for that FD then they can talk about fabrication...

Well, in terms of sheer power I have yet to see a streetable 20B produce the same numbers as a 2JZ. There are plenty of 1k+ rwhp 2JZs out there. PLENTY. But very few 20Bs. I think if i were to have a 1kwhp car, id rather have a motor more people can help me with and a little less finicky than a 20B.
So all in all, i don't think the statement 20B > 2JZ is a correct one.

Why do people get so offended when they see someone put a different motor in an rx7??? everyone has their reasons. the 2jz motor is a real beast. and its true, it IS less finicky than any rotary. i guess it comes down to whoever is a real diehard rotary fan.

Its not the fastest s2000 that title belongs to inline pro at the moment. Me being a s2000 owner and a fd3s owner both cars are different in many ways but both hella fun to drive... To each his own
take 16,000 on either car and they should be fast dont you think

I HAVE raced on of the 2jz s2000. They claim that the cars make 900 hp but in reality they just have gt45' on them with nothing to back it up. stock fuel lines one 255 pump, stock motor I think, just a big shinny turbo and a front mount. looks cool in a parking lot but even better in my rearview...
they have the potential to be fast but I have not seen them actually do it. The kid that owns the yellow was screaming 900 hp over and over but it sure as hell didn't show.

I think if both engines produced the same power, the 20b would be faster because of power-to-weight? So you would only need 800bhp in a 20b to compete with a 1000bhp in a 2jz

AMEN! at least they are not putting a chevy or ford engine in it........2jz is the only other engine worth having in the 7.......get the best of both worlds......the power and reliab.. is unmatch by any other import engine..........i love 7 with rotary's or swaps...so long as its not a damn v8

You'd be suprised, a 20b is going to be VERY similar to the 2JZ in weight. I would suspect only maybe tens of lbs difference. If both engines are producing the same HP then there are too many variables to tell,I.E torque numbers (which the 2JZ would have more of just due to design), and powerband (Which the 20B would have more of due to high-revving nature.)
All in all, it comes down to the streetability of the motor and the reliability. Like previously stated I've NEVER seen a street car with 1krwhp with a 20B and there are very few drag cars that only use those motors for 2 - 3 passes. There are daily driven 1k+rwhp supras. And there are 3 1krwhp supra owners that I know personally in my state. Richard homer from jacksonville, Dane milligan from wilmington, and Jason (Don't know the last name) from raleigh/durham area.
Also, using the STwok.com S2k is a bad example, (and they don't just claim it makes 900rwhp, it made 850rwhp on a dyno video up on youtube), there is a guy named luis from fayettville NC with a completely built 2JZ s2k with 1200DSS axles, Nissan R200 rear end, GT45r turbo, and a triple walbro fuel system. However he only runs pump gas right now.

In terms of what?
The amount of money, time, labor to make your statement true is not worth to even consider going that route unless you are A: a rotary fanatic to the bone or B: Truely want to be different and have money to blow.
Honestly, how many singled 20B's out there do you see or even heard about? There is a reason why its not many. And i hope you know why because its clear.
The 2JZ can be made fast easy and relatively cheap as oppose to your route. Not to mention parts are easy to find, pretty much bolt on and self explanatory when dealing with this engine.
On the 20B, basically everything is custom made and fabricated because it came from a car that wasnt produced in the states.
