I'm sure it's going to perform great and all, but I'm not a huge fan of how it looks. Granted, it's far from ugly, but what happened to nice curves? It looks like a suped up G35 with sharp body lines. I hate the G35, but I'm sure a lot of people will really like this car. My favorite is still the R33 skyline.

Youre not trying to imply that the old gtr's had nice "curves" are you?

I think it looks sick...Definitely going to be a panty dropper.

Man, who taught that guy how to hold and point a camera? Generally you want to get the whole object in view, all while not having a seizure. This did not happen.

The roof line is odd to me... it drops too low, too quickly. Not a huge fan of the way it looks. Maybe it's better in person...

It looks like a G35 and an Rx-8 had a kid. It's nice, but not my style.

I personally think it looks GREAT! 480hp is awesome since the old GTR's had to deal with the old Japanese manufactuer hp limit agreement. Go to the GTR site and read the specs: pretty impressive tech. Nissan has finally got it right with making it a super car.

Just imagine the numbers those cars are gonna put out once someone has the ***** to mod the drivetrain(most will like their warranty too much).

I do hope Mazda puts this much work into the new RX-7 and joins the japanese supercar line(single turbo 3 rotor I hope). New body designs are always gonna put a sour taste in our mouth because the smooth lines of the mid 90''s are unfortunately "old" to new engineers. If they do it right the rotary will continue on in its class breaking records.

i'm sorry but i am an employee of nissan and i think their cars are JUNK. the skyline is badass and all but if it is built like any of their other cars, it's gonna be at service more than driven. the current generation of cars suck so bad. the new 07-08 altima already has 3 recalls! sorry i had to vent a lil, seeing nissan's garbage all day.

I feel ya. I worked for Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler as a technician and they are just as shitty. Materials are low grade and craftsmanship is poor. Makes me wonder about Mercedes Benz, because the Crossfire is supposed to be "Mercedes craftsmanship" with a Chrysler badge(the only car chrysler states that is made by mercedes hands), let me tell you the Crossfire is pretty bad. Just get into the interior and you will know what I am talking about.

Isnt the Chrysler SRT-8 have Mercedez Craftmanship also. My brother in Law has one and he swears his car is the fastest in the streets. Yeah it has a HEMI with 425 HP but it isnt a "kidney puncher" LOL and it weighs alot. My stock FD felt more crazy than that SRT-8 and it was more fun to drive. Its aight if thats your thing, and if you have $50,000 to throw away. There is nothing like turbo

When I first saw this car I thought it looked very "different". Once I heard there was a V-twin under the hood I was very dissapointed. Don't get me wrong, the v-twins have awesome torque but the RB series inlines is what made the "soul" of the GTR......tailights alone are not gonna cut it. I do have to give them props though, to make this 3800lb car run around the NURBURGRING faster than a new 911 turbo, that's impressive!! Another thing that bummed me was that when they revealed the specs there was no 6 speed GETRAG manual transmission, instead they have a dual clutch automatic that can be shifted by paddle shifters or moving the lever.....NO FUN!! This thing even has a anti-rollback feature! These type of cars take away the true spirit and skill of being a fast driver. That was their goal though, to build a fast car that ANYONE could drive fast or slow, rain or snow.

Here is the full info:

NISSAN ANNOUNCES NEW NISSAN GT-R
- New Dimensional Multi-Performance Supercar Available in Early December –

TOKYO (Oct. 24, 2007) - Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today announced the launch of the Nissan GT-R, a new multi-dimensional performance machine that lives up to the concept of “an ultimate supercar for anyone, anywhere, at anytime”. The Nissan GT-R features a newly developed Premium Midship package, including the world’s first independent transaxle 4WD developed independently by Nissan. The Nissan GT-R will be available in Japan mainly through Nissan High Performance Centers nationwide from December 6th.

The Nissan GT-R was developed with a new understanding and appreciation of the Earth’s natural forces – gravity, inertial force and aerodynamics – and translates those forces into a completely new design, maximizing tire grip and airflow.

Basic vehicle dynamics and integration with the driver have also been examined, resulting in new componentry and creating a Human-Machine Interface (HMI) never seen before in the marketplace. All of these theories have been integrated to balance “speed and efficiency,” “high-output with environmental consideration” and “high performance and safety.”

Taking these factors into account, Nissan created the all-new Nissan GT-R, which offers advanced high performance for secure and enjoyable driving by minimizing the effects of climatic, road condition or driving technique limitations. The Nissan GT-R offers ultimate performance for virtually every driving situation – whether it be the Nurburgring circuit, to snow, rain or urban areas – all manageable by the GT-R driver through advanced technology and driving dynamics.

The Nissan GT-R’s unique characteristics are instilled not just in the vehicle’s design, but also through a specialized production process. Carbon fiber, aluminum and steel components are assembled with a special high-precision process, which includes a series of vibration tests. Engines and transmissions are assembled by a single craftsman in a “clean room” environment and upon completion, every GT-R undergoes a battery of comprehensive tests to ensure the proper operation of all vehicle components.

To properly support the all-new GT-R, Nissan has established special Nissan High Performance Centers, where all certified advisors and technicians have received extensive training. Total support for the GT-R owner is offered for the first three years of ownership, including measurement and adjustment of the engine, transmission and wheel alignment after the first 1000 km, and again every 12 months, free of charge.
