And um a standing mile, the rx7 wont be quicker. You do know a large single matched with the getrag 6spd on the supra is basically lethal right?

Why do you think all supras roll? Because they reign on top end. Thats why even 700rwhp supras can already keep up with 1 liter bikes. Their gearing is almost perfect.

Look at this old old video for example.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NL_ORYNbcns

Its the walser supra. STOCK bottom end with a 70 shot and other goodies. I believe it made 920rwhp, i cant remember.

Took a hayabusa, the quickest bike in the world at the time. Remember a hayabusa is a 1.3 liter bike, runs 9s STOCK.

And this is a highway run. Supra gears are perfect.
Ah the infamous Walser supra. Had lunch with him not too long ago and hes here from Austin. That race is on 183 here in Austin. Our shop built that car and btw it had 2835's. That was 2001-2002 damn that was a long time ago.

does your rx7 have a widebody kit on it? and do you have more pics of it?

yes please, more pics of the FD and supra. I think it's every car enthusiast's dream to own every 90's Japanese supercar so you can't really dislike them no matter the weight.

Yeah 3800lbs with 2 average dudes sitting inside.

The non turbo base supra was around 3200lbs, an auto is about 50lbs heavier than that. A full weight turbo model is around 3500lbs and 50lbs extra for a targa model.

So i just met half way with the 3400lbs. Its still not 1000lbs heavier than the FD.

compare that to a rx7 with a good gt30/35r and you will see 1 half of the reason the rx7 wins

max HP is one thing but if your only at that HP for 2000rpm, whats the use innless your in 4th going 140mph?

a good setup on a 7 will yield good power from 4000 to 8000+

Factor in the weight difference between the 2 cars and you will get a better power to weight ratio in more of the gear in the rx7.

Yes the supra makes a better power to weight ratio PEAK, but thats it.

yes the supra would win in the 150mph range...BUT
in a standing mile the rx7 would be MUCH quicker.

with all that said Id love to have that supra.
made some good points up until the standing mile comment....unfortantly this 7 will surely get this supra in the 1/4MILE but in a standing mile it would get ate up.....you can only hold a 600whp supra off 4 so long

You'll never hear of a Supra owner running from a dig. They all want an 80mph roll. They're untouchable at this speed, which has been mentioned above.

accually i think you both are missing the point...

Our Whole Racing Culture is so Behind on the times., our Cars are Solely based on our Horse Power. While the Japanese are going for Driveablity, handling, and acceleration. While We are building Daily Driver Drag Cars, or Big ******* Dyno Queens. take some of these cars that people love here in the states and they will get destroy'd and laughed at in japan.

another thing is some people make really bad chocies on i.e. how to PICK a turbo for their car. oh they want big HP! big HP doesnt mean your car is gonna be fast., so you decide anyways your gonna get a t-88H on a Supra and make 1000 hp , now your complaining about turbo lag., Well no ****,

Come on guys look at the Trends over there and look at what they are putting out., td06's (w/ maybe some rx6's , and a few t-78's. ) are the most common turbo's for the Rx7's and KAI GT35r's are common for the supra.

Another thing., i dont think i've seen any of the tuners build Bridge ported motors for street cars.. ( why are we ?! ) i think the biggest i seen on a street car is a street port., but yah theirs others who just go 3 rotor or 4 rotor.

i guess what im trying to say., if you want power with your 7 , past 600 hp swap your motor., but dont sit there and complain about turbo lag cuz you cant pick a effin turbo to save your life.

.
Serious question.....are you on crack? name one jap car that can compete with a viper or z06. Asian cars (even the new ones coming in 08-2010) are a joke compared to the domestic hp beasts. You name the test...drag, road course, and autocross. lol at your dyno queen comment. those cars perform on any level. Maybe i misunderstood your post but i dont have a clue on what u are talking about.

Actually he is right. Cars here tend to be built for top end power only, where as cars from other parts of the world tend to have a huge midrange with a small top.
