I don't understand why most RX-7 guys talk down on the Supra's weight. Especially considering an FD weighs close to 3,000lbs itself. Supra's however, posess a mighty equalizer known as "torque", so all of that weight is carried much easier than an RX-7 of the same weight and horsepower (hypothetically speaking) could. But, to each his own. As I said, I'm probably leaning toward a Supra over an FD because the general consensus is that FD's are crap unless you have a money tree in your backyard.

Yes thats ALOT but you guys underestimate supra potential. People talk about weight and how the car cant handle, well 90% of people modifying their FD are doing it to make it go fast STRAIGHT!

And a supra do make better DD's than FD's. Im on the supra forums and almost everyone who has a 600+hp supra daily drives them

C6 Corvette Z06 weighs in at 3130lbs, but it'll still walk all over a stock or modded FD with about 300lbs less weight. I swear, most RX-7 guys make me embarrassed to have one.

This is a really stupid argument. Ignorant and prejudice people judge anyone by their cars...BMW = stuck up, rich, wanna be ... Honda = boy racer, riced up, idiot kid who doesnt know better ... American Pickup = cowboy redneck ... etc etc etc...
There are good and bad people who own every make and model of car out there...if you are the one judging them by what they drive then you are the one whom needs to revise your thinking. If you believe people can be judged by what they drive this makes you just as bad...
I have yet to see a Supra out at our HPDE, SCCA or AZRA track events... (and I have been to a few...) Anyone know what the total production run on them was? I would think there were substantially more of them made then RX7s.
I would take a nicely built FD over a Supra anyday, but guess what? That is what I did do... Both cars have their merrits, but 500lbs is a HUGE difference on a race track...HUGE. The Supra does a decent job making up for this though...but you can't compensate for how that weight feels. If you drive them both back to back you will see what I mean.

FWIW, I don't dislike the cars... I just appreciate spartan vehicles. It's why I love the elise and the atom. They're all car.
