I know it aint "street" anymore if you go to a track, but you would avoid the BS with cops, idiot bystanders, and bad surface if you just rent a track for a night and do it there.
Everyone would get their races and you'd have a winner.

sick cars, leave em be VWH
I have a friend who has been building chevy drag cars for over 20 years. He goes to the track once in a while, but really does not care for it. He still runs his 900 hp 69 camaro for money on certain nights.

Sure I do, my time streetracing goes back to the mid 80s.
It sure was fun to take all night to have two races, and then have to call it off and split the cash, right?
Either rent a track or find a better spot that the cops don't already know about.

Then after 8 hours they agree to a race and either the cops show up or someone "jumps" or pulls some bullshit and they get into another 4 hour arguement about one guy being a bitch....
Then they go home and talk about how badass street racing in Chicago is.....

Thats all the "street racers" from Chicago know what to do...run their mouths for hours about how badass they are then go on for another 4 hours about how they are gonna "steal the hit" or some other nonsense.

When you come down to it, most "Fast Street Cars" won't pass nhra tech and aren't willing to put up with the strict requirements for nhra tech. So, the track isn't an option.

To many nights going home thinking why did I waste another night riding around looking for a race, then a spot then someone that wasnt gonna bitch out.
I also agree the NHRA has gotten out of hand. To run in the 9.99 legally at a track it costs well over $2000 more than it does to run a 10.0 and that is just material costs.

Dont get me wrong the cars were sick, but come on not one of those cars drove there, street racing is about street racing not trailoring your car to a street taking it off running it and putting it back on I bet you 100% of those cars dont ever drive on the street. Dont get me wrong its sick and I repsect the time and effort it takes to biuld but they are not street cars its should be called track cars racing on the street. This whole new era of streetracing your full drag car is rediculous if you have to lay down vht and resin and run full slicks thats not a streetrace. And for those of you who say oo well I uderstand its for safety, think about it then is it really "streetable" VMH sick video and cars but the whole scene is kinda getting overkill then the part in the end when they were talking about money, easy if buy in was $1000 and you didnt race then you get your $1000 back if you raced you get the money from whoever you raced if you won and dibs in the crowd money simple as that. Just my opinion

I think street racing is pretty stupid (that's me being a Dad), but I have to admit, the guy that saved that Mustang from flipping over and probably killing himself is a good driver and a lucky son of a bitch.

Yeah, god forbid your car (over a ton of matter with so much energy in its momentum) be safe.
