runs like crap when cold(rtek1.7)

I understand that when i installed the rtek chiped ecu it removed the accelerated warm-up. People say they just hold the idle with the thottle and it will warm up to stay running. Seems to me i have to drive the car for a good 5-10min before it will even think about idling. is somthing screwed up or is it really this cold blooded, it doesn't matter if it 110 degrees out side or 0 degrees the car has to be driven for awhile before it will idle. Or is this normal

accelerated warmup is the 3 seconds at 3krpm at startup. what youre describing sounds like thermowax problems, which will bump your idle up when the engine is cold, rtek should have nothing to do with cold idle
