OH Questions about Rtek 1.5

Just bought a stock 10th AE and the car is perfect except for the exhaust. They are rusted but not all the way thru. I checked into oem exhaust and they are about 4 grand. I don't want to spend that much so I was thinking about the Racing Beat RevII. I have done a little research and I keep seeing port the wastegate. Does this HAVE to be done? What do I need to make this exhaust system work safely? From what I see I need Rtek 1.5 and ported wastegate, Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

you'll be ok with just a catback (and i mean JUST a catback). I knew one guy with a really clean 88 T2 that only had an RB catback and I'm pretty sure he had no boost creep issues. You can call Racing Beat and ask them if you are concerned. Once you start eliminating/gutting any of the cats the boost will definitely creep.

A friend and I installed the Racingbeat RevII turbo-back on my car... then we ported the **** out of my waste gate and welded a bigger washer onto the flapper door that covers the larger size hole and my boost stuck right at 7psi at wide open throttle and absolutely no creep.
