Palm tx serial cable

I have a Palm T|X and an rtek 2. The digital tuning site no longer carries compatible cables nor does serialio.com. Ebay cables are not for the T|X. What options do i have? I vauguely remember reading somewhere that a null
Modem adapter wont work.

Would rather not buy another palm.

Why not? My Sony SJ30 was only $25.00 so I bought 2 of them, and then bought a $100.00 laptop running Windows XP to sync with. I think it is great that they are so cheap.

So null adapters wont work? And again that might be a solution but im sure there must be one that would allow me to use my current device

Well, I know that IOT use a null adapter on a newer computer, it has to be supported with drivers, so I'm going to go ahead and say I doubt it.

I've seen serial cables for the TX elsewhere on the net. Just keep looking.

There is a thread on using the Palm emulator on a laptop. That is what requires a null modem. Otherwise I'm sorry I don't have any other source for those cables.

Nuts. Perhaps one will pop up on ebay

If anyone else is interested i contacted serialio and they said they could make more at 44$ each but i forgot what the minimum ammount. Would anybody be interested in that? Ill call back later today if some people speak up. Its about 3$ cheaper than the normal price.

An sj30 with the cable is about the same amount, or a little less...

I cant lie, I did consider the TX, but its cost was significantly higher. While I'm no cheap ***, it just wasnt worth my time to source a cable when the sj30 was so easy/cheap to acquire!

All of it would be necessary, and according to my docs, and then some.

The problem with the multi connector is that they multiplex the pins. They use the TX/RX pins to detect what kind of accessory was connected. So before you can actually do any communication, you have to do a little song and dance on the pins to tell it that you want to use the pins as a serial port..

I would be totally down for a sj30 but on ebay theyre like 30/40 bucks then i would need to buy the serial cable from pocket logger for another 30$. I already have a tx and enjoy soldering and wiring so i wondered if i could make it myself.

Turbo2ltr do you have any more info about this subject?

I have 100 unpopulated boards that do this "dance", and I also have close to 100 multi-connectors. Both of which we used in the cable we used to sell. Unfortunately we used to get the other part of this cable premade with the required circuitry, but they stopped selling them and that's why we discontinued it.

So you would have to make the MAX circuit yourself and interface it with our board.
