Sup sandrail buddy. Any pics of the rail in full? I work for Wicked Sand Toys in Riverside. One of the better ones we made was this one: http://www.wickedsandtoys.com/galler...page/page2.htm

Its nice to see some rotaries still out there. They all died out after the LSx craze. Even Redline junked all of their rotary stuff.
Who made the chassis?

Last year I called up Redline hoping they would have plenty of used side irons only to find out a week before I called they threw 800 lbs of rotary stuff away. =( The torque of the lsx is very nice, but the extra weight can throw it off a bit.

I noticed they are using DJ Safety belts on that rail. Our company moved to them after one bad weekend with Crow seatbelts. I'm sure you heard, one guy in a Funco died because the shoulder straps tore away from the lap belt, and our buisness partner/part owner of Wicked almost died for the same reason. All on the same weekend.

Hey Rob We got a similar project going on. Im going to put my old rotary on a dune buggy sand rail thats my cousins. I was just wondering what kind of tranny you have on there and what you had to do to get it to match up with the rotary. Is there an adapter plate in there like your t5 mustang tranny ones or what? I think the tranny on his is a VW onw or something. Ill probably be calling you soon.

Thanks man
Josh

josh, your right, its an adapter plate that goes between the bug tranny and the rotary motor. the adapter kit consists of a bug flywheel modded to fit a mazda counterweight, adapter plate and all the hardware needed to attach the two. cost is around $450.00. it will fly because the bug is so light call me
