what mods needed for high rpm (12,000)?

i was wondering if anyone knew what mods to do to be able to make a "relatively reliable" pport motor that will rev to 12,000 rpms. i already got the race bearings, 3 window bearings, hardened stationary gears, balancing the whole assembly, and e-shaft oil mods, im gonna be running rotary aviation "super seal" apex seals. thats all that i can think of

Thumbs up The engine is only one part of what you need.

The motor is a critical piece to what you need, but if your dragracing you will also need to beef up your drive train also. Tranny, Clutch, Rearend and don't forget all the safety stuff. But, like Travieso said $$$$ helps a whole lot, but it is not everything. Go to a local national event, and watch the fastest cars race in the category you want to participate in, and see how much work is involved.

Lots of hard work and dedication to go fast it does not happen overnight.

Good Luck

You are on the right track with those mods, i would use carbon apex seals from racing beat if i was you they work exellent , also try to keep the revs to 10,000 rpm that will give you a "relatively reliable" PPort motor.

I remember back in the day(6 or so years ago) I had a large street port on a 89 motor with 48Webers, in my rx2 lol I tried to rev it to like 10k before I would shift lol it was hilarious I was like 17 with the only car that would do it hahahaa it wouldnt go anwhere after like 8k it actually would kinda slow down a bit but boy it would get there, and sounded like the whole car was going to fall apart(it really was)lol I cant believe I was that stupid back in the day its hilarious.

a peripheral port is way different than a street port, it will pull from about 6,000 to 12,000 so i just wanna make sure i dont mess up and forget to put in a $100 part and blow up a $5,000 engine.

To be honest ..You may not need 12K to make good power/torque.
The proper porting, intake setup, timing/electrical & exhaust….Can do most of it the rest is just tinkering which can take some time to pick up...The Kilo's , Saritos & Vivos of this planet have decades on their belts to get to 9 or 10s on GAS.

I will give you a prime example...Kamikaze 3 Rotor car (Puerto Rico) when it was all motor used to shift at 10k+...the engine got x# of runs before it was in need of a rebuild.... then more R&D directed them to shift at a lower revs. perhaps 9K and not only did they have their engines last much longer (less rebuilding time) but their ET's improved. I think they got to 8.8 all motor.

Another example is a Rotary B2000 that we use as a shop/promotion truck.
It has a unopened all stock 12A (1979) with about 90K miles on it.
W have a modified 79 manifold, Sterling OEM carb with top secret venturies good ignition and an exhaust that took us a few months to devise and make fit.
Keep in mind the internals are stock and unopened yet it revs ever so smoothly to 9.5k.....We run Pro-Trac 26x8.5 tires on this truck and it wants to rip them off the rims...

So in my humble opinion or at least at this level of my rotary understanding its not always high RPM's that are needed to get the Job done.

Com se dice por ahi Suavesito... That means take it slow.

God Bless

My honest advise , "Engines don't live very long at 12,000 rpm" , A well build and tuned PPEngine should make most of the power from 7,000 to about 10,600 RPM. "Sure it will Rev a lot more" , but if you have a good combination of Motor, Tranny, rearend etc.... You don't need to Rev the engine to 12,000 to go fast.
