tricks to a smooth shifting t2 trans???
hey boys
looking for any info on how to make a t2 trans shift better down the strip, im running high 10s and having a problem sometimes missing 2nd or 3rd , and i would like to stay with the t2 trans, so im looking for some old tricks or new technology to improve the performance of the t2 trans.

But do be careful as if you solid mount your box, you can put undue stress on your gearbox bellhousing as the engine wants to twist and the rear of the box wont, so the end result is a cracked bellhousing , you can avoid it buy running solid engine mounts as well.
I run both solid mounts and have no shifting problems with my t2 box , i shift at 9000 rpm day in day out
also try running just atf oil in the box, some work some don't make a difference , ive tried atf and it was no different from 85/140 gear oil , but i have had the syncros removed, when i get my box back from the workshop ill drop the plate and take some happy snaps

Its nice, I have not had any problems since I had it put in. Whats funny is that I do drive the car on the street alot and when I shift and it bangs into gears its so loud that I get poeples attentions and they give me wierd looks!
Any time a new person is in my car they think there is something wrong with my tranny but its working just fine. Shifting smooth and fast still.

what box do you have , s4 or 5 , the two mounts are different but easily made buy yourself , this is a pic of my s5 home made spec, and im not the most craftiest kind o guy, they are just two round bits of aluminium that have been drilled through the middle and have got a angle cut off the top corner of each one, its needed to clear the two bolts that bolt to the box on each side , just a simple nut an bolt through the middle and then bolt it together and your set
