The plates will be tested under boost application since this are the guy that really break them.

I just read through this whole thread and I agree with everyone else that this is awesomeness. It's like the invention of the lightbulb for rotary engines. If these things can take even 100k miles of daily/weekend warrior then I'd declare it an epic success. I already declare it a success for racing applications. Wish I could afford a pair.

Wow...I just spent the Entire day at work reading through these 20 pages of posts and that's all I got to say. Edgar...Superb Job!!! I don't care about anymore "info" I'm sold on your products and I think I share your vision....A second lease on life for the rotary in the US...since nobody else cares enough or has the ***** to actually undertake the mission which you have, you have already recorded your name in the rotary history books! Who cares if the 16X can give you an "all aluminum" block when you can get it all from E&J plates, rotors, housings, shafts?...am I asking for too much? No one can say it is impossible anymore cause you have broken through that frontier...I now know how I'm gonna spend my tax return!!! Thank for all the work, sweat, frustrations that you endured to reach this point....Great Job!

I just read all the pages of this thread and I gotta say, great work, keep it up. Id love a 5 pound set + CW

As others are saying, Id love to see much more feedback on testing being done. There hasnt been alot of updates in the past year and a daily driver FD, a NA PP and a 24hr race car trial/test would just show us alot of what we want to know.
Its all well and good as a drag product, but TBH, how much potentual is there in that? Get the daily drivers/street guys wanting this and you will be on a winner!

Billet rotor update

Sorry guy for not providing new updates but we have been tooooooo busy. Here we go, we have a customer that has the rotors on a na application for road racing and he provided us with some details.

They ran the motor for over 4 hours at 6500 rpms and every thing went well. The motor restarted with no problems, there was no bearing issues and no oil pressure drop. The best new from this test was that the oil temp. went down 10 degrees, we have a second customer that confirm the same results. Our set of rotors are now 8.5 to 1 compression and created 10 horses less than a motor with 9.7 to 1 compression and 20 pound of compression less. I have talked to some top rotary mechanics and they told me once we install a 9.7 to 1 compression rotor on the motor, we will create 40 to 80 horse more than the original rotors. THIS IS GREAT NEWS. We are now making a set of rotors with higher compression "yes, we now have the formula to figure out the compression ratios". We also made some changes to the rotor, that need to be made and unfortunately there will not be pic available, due to some out there that are trying to copy our product. Our rotors are still solid, just as strong and is causing the oil temp to come down.

I want to take this time to thank every one for there kind word and support.

Great news indeed the 10Hp loss from the 8.5.1 rotor,was that from a N/A or turbo setup?...and to throw an idea to you guy's,would you be able to make low compression rotors for the rx8 renesis??

P.s great work you all are doing for the rotary community
oh and Hows the progress on the front Plates?

We can but you would have to use the 13 b side seals. The motor that tis was tested on is a N/A motor no boost.

what could you change on the housings? liters and compression is all from the rotors, you cant really change the curvature of the housings or it wont rotate properly and vibrations and shudders could occur

the only thing you could with the housings is find a way to remove heat from the inside

maybe put some heatsinks on the outside of the housings or enlarged coolant passages

I think Kabooski is talking about Manufacturing billet rotor housing and rotor with different dimensions,Think mazda 16x engine but with the extra .4 liters of displacement

Though it adds mechanical complexity the 20B is the current easy way to gain that extra rotor width and displacement.

Besides, Mazda designed the engine dimensions for the 10A and every revision for more displacement from rotor width has been a compromise for power that decreased efficiency through poor combustion chamber shape.

They are getting back to a more efficient narrow rotor shape with the 16X design while gaining the power from the slight displacement change AND the change or eccentric offset (stroke) for more torque.

Now, a custom 4 rotor made up of 10A or better yet 13A dimensioned parts sounds tasty

though it had no function in this specific use, i actually saw it done in a prototype air powered rotary engine in a go kart on youtube.

though that model had no coolant passages, it wouldnt really need any since it ran on compressed air.

i dont see why our engines cant have both. in my theories (mind you its 11:30pm lol) the heatsoaks would help remove surface heat from the housings which would reduce the load on the coolant since it would then focus on the heat removal from inside....or something like that

we did not get a chance to test them last weekend but we are going to the track on saturday to test the motor with the billet rotors and the front plate. As soon as we get some info this weekend we shall post.
