My new hunk of junk..rx3 project
So I picked it up today. Worked out even better as I got full set of old school center lines and a cowl hood on top of what we agreed on. I have the rear lights and front lights and grill. Missing the trim around front head lights. Here are some pics of the beauty..

I have known the guy for a bit. He goes back in rotary's-- way back. He is a good guy. I think he wants to see me get it completed so it was cheap. He also has a rx100 in very nice shape that he would sell but he isnt going to give it away. He has a few 1st gens and 2nd gens that need a new home also. When I was there today he had a rew on a roll around engine stand outside running. He runs all his motors he builds before shipping them out. Again, he has his own lapping table custom made that puts a very nice finish on the plates.
Lots of work ahead. Anyone know were I can find the front bezels and side markers?
Lots of work ahead.....
The car was started by another guy then went to him and he did a little more then just lost interest.

Congrats, nice pickup. Looks like you're going to have alot of fun. I've never seen a rotary with a cowl hood before. I wonder if he was building an all motor or nitrous engine for this car? Either way ditch that hood.

Big Congrats! You need help, just holler!
You might want to call around and get prices on getting it blasted or ask your local bodyshops what they recommend. Let them know you're on a budget.
First things first, get that sucker sealed up.
For budget rearend parts, check out corral.net. You can usually find some great deals there.
I think that will work out just fine.

Jeez, I have a running car and it feels like too much work, props to you for the ambition! If I was ever to build a drag car, RX3's would be top on my list. Congrats dude, looking forward to seeing a build thread.

3 months and I just started blasting the car. I set up a booth in my garage-bought a big compressor and a sand blasting tank. Using aluminum oxide to blast 100% of the car. Once done I will prime , chassis coat then take the car to the chassis shop. I am not sure if I am having the complete 4 link clip cut out and new one added or just rework whats in there.
