Montgomery IFO results.

So I didnt get my 9sec slip but won the class. So it was a good day for the rotary's (Roan-Bacon-me and BNR). Never got one clean pass in, I suck!

Crazy day.

1st pass (qualifying pass) blow map sensor vac line off after shift to 4th 10.3 @ 120 thought I lost the motor ()

2nd pass (1st round of elimination) Shift 1st-2nd back to 1st! 10.7 @135

3rd pass (2nd round) hit all gears fine but spun past 330ft mark 10.4 @138

4th pass (finals) me and BNR. More issues! Thought I lost a motor for the 2nd time of the day. Shift to 4th and a seal stuck! Car started breaking up so shut it down. 10.5 @124
After getting on return lane rev'ed the **** out of it and seal came back and all is fine again.

The track was so BAD! All my 60's were high 1.5's to 1.6's. I was off by .4 every pass at the 330 mark and .3-.5 on 1/8th mile. Tried free rev's, 2 step, lower tire presure and nothing worked.

City temp was 95 degree's and track temp was 140 with 100% humidity! Freaken HOT!

I have serious boost issues, was running in guessing zone since I am on a GM 3 bar and it was pegged at 2.18 bars. Afr's were crazy high 12.2's-12.3's. This motor has taken a serious beating for the last 3 years now. Going to run a comp. test this week to make sure all is good.

I know without a doubt it will go high 9's with hooking track, decent weather and another driver..

Congrats, that's awesome! Don't worry, I had the same issues with my track last time.

How the heck do you shift from second to first?

That tranny let's you hit any gear on up shifts. I got a lock out being made now for 5th and reverse so shouldn't be an issue anymore. Funny thing is when liberty built it they suggested I get a lockout or make myself. I didn't think it would be an issue but that's three times now!

COngrats on the win!!!! Holly crap you had it hot, it was chilly up here

Not tht its gonna make you feel any better but on my 2nd run I completley missed 3rd (like it didnt even go in enough to grind) let out the clutch and was like DOOH lol still clicked off a 11.0

Hope the Motors aight, mine started acting funny having low Vac, shitty idle, wanting to stall, swapped plugs (the ones i pulled were fine just a dusting of carbon) and she was back to brand new....

Not sure what fuel/ plugs your runnign, but im finding with the EGV's/c16 i need to wire brush/replace every 8-10 passes

Will the lock out be able to be used on any stock FD trans, or just the Liberty modified ones?

fd trans. If you need on contact Ray Wilson asap as I am sure it would be easier for him to make a few at a time rather then just one for me.

Hahaha.. I saw the lights from far away, told my bro I bet the cops got some young kid in his honda showing off.. Then saw it was you in a serious conversation. I figured you were trying to talk your way out! Guess it worked..

Good seeing you and sorry I didn't have more time to talk but they were rolling us thru. My passes were less then an hour apart.

Good result and nice an low 10 second passes !!!!!

I use the Stillway 0-400 shifter which has a lock out mech once you done the 1st to 2nd shift, so you can not select 1st or 5th or reverse only 3rd and 4th

You drop the collar on the shifter to use the gates, and lift the collar and twist onto a stop to lift the colum out of the gate for normal shifts on the road

Mike,
Congratulations! I looked for you at DGRR....That was my Nephew with the silver GTR at IFO. He lost to Bryan in the 1/4 finals on the tree. His best time in good weather is a 10.6. Paul at Liberty said I should have my trans by the end of the month. It will be identical to yours. I already build a lock out for 5th/R for my other Liberty trans. Anyway, congrats to you and all the rotary guys..

Thanks man!

Watch the video at the 31 second mark a guy in the back gets hit by a rock in face! I cant believe they let all these kids hang out in those areas!

Also looking back at my logs last night. The last pass (this video) my IAT's were in the 50's or so before start, at the end of the track they were in the 80's! My water temp was in the 90's before the lights went down. I am telling you it was freaken HOT! I will never race in that weather again. Not that I cant hack it but damage to the car that can acure.

yes. I try and set it just enough to keep me from rolling the beem. I set it too much that time and didnt want to slip my clucth that much to stage so I turned it off and staged with e brake only. Must have a little chatter on clutch as it kept rolling after revs came up and made me deep stage , almost lite the red bulb!

Nice run! You and the car are looking great!

Can't believe they let people hang on the wall like that. There is a guy sitting on the wall at or after the starting line. Homeboy is dumb!

I was thinking the same thing, and that they let you click off time slips like that in a Tshirt!

Atco has a 6ft chainlink fecne to impeede your view/taping the runs for normal spectators LOL

E-town is much nicer, no chainlink fence, but the wall is back further
