if i try i can drive a six puck and you probably wouldn't even think it was a six puck. it's VERY hard but can be done without bucking stalling, chattering LOL

Ditto, I love my ACT 6puck. Just wish I didn't waste all the time and money jacking with organic "street" disc's. I even tried the "Extreme" PP. Now I'm back to a HD plate with the 6 puck. No problems slipping the launch on street tires or even pulling 1.62's on slicks. I've never stalled it yet either.

i have seen the light! my car has an extreme pp and rb six puck sprung disk. RB disk came on the car so i figured might as well use it. if i wear it out i have a spare act 6 puck unsprung disk

nocab,
the act clutches will not hold that amount of power, despite what they say. it might hold for a few hard launches, and then what? you'll have to replace them again. i wore out my act s/s on my bone stock fd w/ just a few hard launches, so that gives you an idea of how accurate they're torque figures are. the fact is if you want the clutch to hold for more than a couple passes you'll need a twin plate. on top of the abuse they can take, the pedal effort is easier than a puck type clutch.

twin plates cost ALOT $2000 . i have seen quite a few cars with ACT puck clutches. none of them have failed. i agree the S/S will fail but it will take alot to kill a 6 puck

hahah, not rich...

I'll probably give the 6puck a whirl, if I smoke that I'll know I need to dig deep and be ready for the twin plate.

wait til you really start launching hard, w/ anti-lag and 30lbs. of boost off the line. if it's a moving component, you'll break it.
