Drag Racing Technique Critique....hey, that rhymes!

I'd like you guys to take a look at a couple of videos from this weekend's shakedown runs at the drag strip. I'm looking for a critique of the car's setup, my driving technique.......everything. My dragstrip time is nil and criticisms and suggestions would be appreciated. Best of the day was 11.0 ET @ 126 mph with a 1.50 60 ft time.

Keep your right hand on the shifter and don't reach up to the wheel after each shift. You can control the car with your left hand but going from the shifter to your steering wheel in between shifts might cause a miss. You keep your right hand on the shifter it won't be an issue. Once you go through the gears then you can reach up with your righthand and aide in steering . Also for me I like to keep my grip on the steering wheel at about 8-9 o'clock position and steady my arm by pressing my elbow against the door/cage rollbar.

Looking pretty good. The first vid the car bogged and you seem to be shifting at a low rpm? The last vid the car launched much better but didn't go straight. If you can get the launch straight and shift at a higher rpm you should run 10's easily

Wow...2750 with driver!! Thats awesome.

Def agree with 13btnos, keep that hand on the shifter until your last gear then bring it up. Other than that, I dont see too much more area for improvement besides more seat time.

What is your 2-step rpm?

What trans? Rear end?

Yep. The first video was launching at 6000 rpm, I think. We made the 11.0 run launching at 6500. The last video was launching at 6750 rpm when it pulled both tires and headed for the wall.

I tended to short shift 1st gear yesterday. Just need to get more disciplined to wait for the shift light.

Trans is an S4 TII. The axle is a Moser 12 bolt with 33 spline axles and a 4.30 gearset.

I was watching these videos on yellowbullet. It seems as though you just need more seat time. Easy click of 10"s with more seat time. Do Good burnouts, get used to launching at 6700+, keep your hand on the shifter + shift faster. DUring your shifts its falling way out of boost. Also dont try to stay on the 2-step for a lengthy amount of time. Most of all fix the seat lol.
