[QUOTE=classicauto]Only problem with the large Garrett's on trucks is the astonisingly small hotsides....QUOTE]
I just thought I would throw that out there......There are more than Garretts that I can get a hold of. Turbos that would put us in the 600-700hp range with supporting mods for cheap......as in $200-$300......sometimes free.. The beauty of it is that they are name brand as well. Garrett, AiResearch, Holset, etc.

I say FB for weight and low cost, and the supposive easyer ford 9" rear
also, for a ems why not a megasquirt? we seem to have a fairly strong following on the forum for it, why not use it (and no im not a ms user, wolf actualy however ms is inexpensive and i feel proven)

I have already offered my rims (I paid $200)
and I remember I still have an Exceddy clutch in the box also ($300)
I don't think Twomucboost should use his car for several reasons:
1. too much sentimental value
2. as $100T2 said other members will not want to donate to finish YOUR project
3. I don't want to see any of our members sad over the loss of their heirlooms (an RX-2 is a family heirloom, right?)
THE FB Kevin is donating has no sentimental value and there are som many out there that finding a replacement for him won't be horrible. It IS light-weight and directfreak is the proof that sick FB's are out there romping on other cars.
I think using a 12A sounds fine but it has to be built properly otherwise we're wasting time and $$. I'm really leaning towards a 13B-T engine/tranny with a custom front mount and possibly some sort of wet NITROUS system.

The reason Im offering it up is because I want to do something with it. My dad is impressed I even still have the car and my grandfather could care less. If I could finally finish it and put it on the track and just race it one time down the track Id be fulfilled. hey if we win and i get to keep it then hey, if we lose then at least Ill have the satisfaction of knowing i did something with it and have it telavised and recorded. As far as people wanting to help finish my project, thats a fine line, they will be more than reembursed if we win by selling the car and if we lose then everyone is out. This isnt helping me finish my car it making a future investment that is a gamble that should be known. As far as the raffle thing there is no gaurantee of return if we win, my way if we win your gauranteed to be rwarded for your contribution.

it's not confirmed yet. I think we need to at least get a motor before we can consider it confirmed.
I dunno what to say/think about twomucboost4u's offer.
I wanted to contact some of the vendors on OUR forum (i've been around a while, just not with this SN) and see if they can pitch in but i'm still waiting until we have something SEMI-Confirmed before I involve any real businesses.

ok so to get things in order
1. $100T2 is donating his 1st gen
2. we will receive a raffle ticket for every $25 we donate in cash or parts (based on a fair market value)
3. crackheadMel can donate his manifold
4. Terrh can help us out with 13B-T parts
5. I have some 15x7 or 15x8 rims that I can donate (discontinued rims but i'll take the risk) and if we don't need the rims I can donate money
6.twomucboost4u can donate his 13B-REW but needs it back if we win( not sure how easy of a swap it will be and whther the return can happen)
We still need to figure out WHERE and HOW to send in the Money orders and Cashier's checks/ personal checks or if we're going to go the simple route and use paypal (we'll lose at least 3% of our donations through them)

If the car can pass through St Pete Fl I can do the cage at my shop. I'll even throw in the material. I'd just need to know how fast this thing is hoping to go so I could get enough tubing here to do a cage or just a bar.

I am up for the FB idea as well. Also think the raffle idea is awesome! I would be willing to throw down some cash on this project. It would be something that would go down in history.

Has a turbo been desided on yet? If not, let me know what kind of power we are shooting for and I will stop at the diesel specialists/race engine builders tomorrow and see what they can dish up for us.

Also, to encourage people to donate sooner rather than later, I'm thinking we could get some of the forum sponsors to donate small things like t-shirts, hats, whatever, and we can use the raffle entries to give some other things away during the build.
