Congrats Dan! I knew it would happen this season! Your hard work is finally paying off. I'm proud to see the team with a win under its belt. Hopefully this will be the first of many victories!

Eric , can you desribe some of the class car mods allowed for the RX7's we seee here?
I thought we get hung out to dry with mod limitations or lack of and the Supra takes it.
Thanks. Congrats D!

We are trying many things new on our 13b program but none of them i can blame at this point. On our first pass we overboosted to about 88psi I do not think i could ever build a rotary to hold this much boost
Due to the compressed schedule with qualifying and eliminations on the same day this mistake cost us big time.
Sorry Dan did not mean to jack your thread Congrats again great job!!!!!!!!!

No problem D. Jack all you want. Lucky win for me. Sorry to hear about the car man. I know how you feel, you ever find out if the cause of engine 2 was an accident? Probably, but can't help but wonder.

Just got home and unloaded today. Thanks to everyone for their congrats, sorry for the delay. I'm real psyched about the win, although unfortunately, it's not really the way I had hoped. I'm happy that all the hard work that has gone into the car lately, finally brought home a wally (which I could just kiss, it's so nice to look at) .
This time I just got lucky with what happened to Julie and all, although the car did pull off a pretty good pass during qualifying (although I was shooting for a low 10 sec pass, so the competition wouldn't be ready when it came time), but.......for the run against Mark and the final run the cars 60fts were suffering, and it took me 3 jabs each run to get the car into 3rd gear. Unfortunately I think the stock trans is finally reaching its limit, although it's hard to tell yet. With the way the car was holding up, Julie would have taken me out for sure. On the way home, Ken and I talked for a while and brainstormed about coming up with some possible causes, and I spoke with Chris and Ari, and Carl as well. Fortunately, with Carl, I did get some really good input. We might have found a solution, but I'm not sure yet. I have to do some research with the car quickly, as well as try to leave for E-Town in 8 days. The car is dangerously close to 150mph, so I have to install a chute, and must try to do some R&D. For some other things. This is hard to do on such a small budget, thanks to Chris and Ari, it's just barely possible. I'm approaching some potential sponsors, but I'm not holding my breath. I'll try to keep up and stay on top, but money's tight.
The real congrats goes to Ken with pulling off the 7.80 pass @ 171mph! That car is a beast, and is finally starting to break out of it's box. It shot straight out like a banana on a slip-and-slide! I like the words from Ken while talking with Mazdaspeed motorsports - "We were haulin'-a-little-hay!" It made me laugh pretty hard to hear that, still does while I type it. So far Ken and I are enjoying teaming up together to attack the scene, and I feel lucky to have so much help from the guys at Rotary, Jesus, D, Ken, and all of you on this forum. Thanks for your support!

Didn't really beat the Subaru yet, just putting the pressure on her to mess up. Planning to, as long as my pocket can support it or I pick up some sponsor money. I hope to see you there.

Competition is not worth the effort. Those guys are way out of our league, as far as the BFG Street class goes. We basically have to pick one or the other due to overlapping events and time to prepare. For the class that we could hold a candle to, the coverage is virtually nill. NHRA is a well known and established sanctioning body, and for me, is geared more towards racing with a show, instead of NOPI which is a show with racing. Basically, preference, at least for me. Also, the rules are different between NHRA and NOPI classes, so much so, that gearing up your car for one event could potentially hurt you at the other. Like lexan windows for example. You get the idea.
