Domingo,

Just found out about your misfortune.
Cars can allways be fixed, people some times not
Glad You are OK
Best regards.

Thanks everyone for their kind words.
I'm still in shock and believe this is just a dream and I'm going to wake up and it did not happen. But it's not.
Most important is that Domingo's ok except for his broken ribs. Like Carlos mentioned before cars can be replaced but people not.

I was in shock when i seen the car hit the wall the way it did.Glad you are ok.Horriable event. Thanks to OSW for ruining it.
The messed up part about the entire ordeal is even after our crash they did not prep the track even after the cries of many racers. That to me shows no respect for racer's safety. I'm going to quote Angel Valetine's words who runs the 'Nightmare' all motor rx-7 along with Jesus(Killo)Padilla at the NHRA Sport Compact racing. Angel ran just after we had our accident and I told him to be carefull but after exiting his car after the run it was very obvious that he was really pissed off and he had this to say.-->
'These f....king people are crazy out here. They are going to kill someone here today.'
That was after he threw his helmet to the floor in disgust to what he had just experience after running his car.
They never applied VHT the entire day even after it rained and should of at least for the first time before letting cars run on the track.
In all the years I've been racing this had to be the worst track conditions I've even seen. It seem even more dangerous than running on the normal streets because even slower cars were having a difficult time going straight.
People complain about this track and other tracks not being good all the time but what it comes down to is track preperation or the lack of in most cases. We were really looking forward to running good this weekend at this track especially after we've always been presented with a very good track prep at OSW compared to Moroso and the results always showed that in return. So it's very obvious to us that something was not correct this weekend.

VERY DISSAPOINTED at OSW!!!!

I feel lucky to have a home track that cares about it's racers, woodburn dragstrip is one of the best in the country,i was there when some new records were set,Abel,Jesus, but it comes down to track prep,we have another track here in Portland, and they don't prep, and what a difference,i've seen a few cars do what Domingo's car did.on that note,i think it should be the track owners responsability to fix or replace the car,and pay for medical bills, like that will happen, that's why they make you sign the waiver, anyway just my 2 cents.

Comments from other racers that day-->

From Jessica Barton aka. supragrl93 on the supra forum.

''The track was absolutly horrible!!! I had some of my scariest runs to date there this Sunday. It really was just a battle of who could get their car down the track.. I had to race Mark in round 1 and we were just both fighting to keep from losing control of our cars, he only trapped 103mph and i trapped 98mph... We just couldnt stay in the throttle. It was completely unsafe. "

From Japtrix Racing

"sucked wasnt the word. more like dangerouse. wont see our car going thier again.
their to poor to even put some track bite down."

Thread showing other racers opinions.-->

I spoke to Cris earlier today and he told me the news, and to check this thread. I still cannot believe it. I was just with you guys a few hours before you left to Orlando.

Losing the car DOES suck - but at least you are alright (for the most part). I would rather you wreck a hundred times and total the car each time, than you get hurt even once.

The car will be replaced. The parts can be salvaged.
I am glad you are safe.

Like the 6 Million dollar man:

"Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic car. Travieso will be that car. Better than it was before. Better, stronger, faster."

You guys could always throw the engine and trans in Chris' FC, he is not using it.

That thought did come up!
Domingo allready looked at another rx-3 today but the owner does not want to sell it. I can't blame him either because it is very clean and he has owned it for a long time and does not want to part with it.
We have a couple of options including the build up of Domingo's dream car but a decision will have to be made based on the future of the class or intended use of the new car.

Well you did say your next engine would "brap". The only problem would be figuring out who would drive.

The fact that Domingo is already wanting to get back out there and race makes me smile.

There are different theories floating around about that but I don't want to speculate especailly on an open forum.
But there's one thing that does not need any speculation and that was that it was simply no or lack of track preperation this weekend experience by all racers. May it be the track officials or the racing organisation that held the event responsible for the track prep.

after the clean up the guy on the sweeper came to us and told ANGEL that the track was dusty if he didnt feel safe to getoff it , after ANGEL does his burn out i am looking @ him and his wife tells me dont let him run i had allready told him if it broke loose to let it go and it sure did , came out the hole dragging the wheelie bar puts 2 the car is loose shifted to 3 and got of it like CRIS said to mention how pissed of he was would be an under statement.
