You've got 5 lug up front? I still have 4 lug. There's not much available for 4 lug, just a bunch of old ugly crap.
|
I have 4 lug GSL-SE front hubs up front. Now if you have the craptastic 4x110...then yeah, your SOL
|
Guess I need to figure out what I have. Actually, pretty sure the previous owner swapped everything out to GSLE stuff.
Even then, I still don't see many wheels available in 4 lug. |
Lots of the Weld wheels are 4 lug, cuz the 5.0 Mustangs were 4 lug.

I was hoping to find a 5 star wheel. http://www.holeshotwheels.com/images...eshot_1_lg.jpg |
If you call Holeshot or Bogart they can make any wheel they carry any bolt pattern! Especially with Holeshot, they are very cool and know imports very well. Money talks and bullsh--t walks....but, you knew that already.
|
Yep, I didn't even think about that. But yes you're right, they were very pleasant to deal with!
|
What I like the most about HoleShot is they are only a 1:30 min away from me ,LOL . That 5star HS lock really nice !
|
yeah the 5 star holeshots or the 5 star weld pro stars will look tight.
|
|
Showoff! That's what I need so I can have the centers match my rear

Got both tub models done today and they're fitting nice and snug to the quarter panel. It was pretty tricky getting them fitted since the quarter obviously isn't straight.
I'll buy the sheet metal next weekend and get them traced out, cut and welded in. I've been instructed by the local raceshop to use silicone between the tub and quarter panel.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3000.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3035.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3034.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3032.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3031.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3028.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3006.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3012.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3026.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3027.jpg |

Makes sence, welding the tubs to the quarters would trash the paint on the other side would it not |
3 hours of work...... and a $37 harbor freight electric metal shear
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3039.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3036.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3037.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3038.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3040.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3041.jpg |
Well they look great Eric but now the easy part!:icon_tup:
|
what easy part?
|
Sorry i thought that the statment was smart ass enough without an explanation!
Filling in the other areas gets tricky, best of luck its looking good Eric! |
how does it get tricky? just deciding how to run it? I've got a pretty good imagination?
Should I use the same 22 gauge metal or should I use some thing aluminum sheeting? remember, I want things nice and sealed/quiet in there |
That looks really nice Eric. For a self thought fabricator you're doing a damn fine job.
OK, back to cleaning rotors :) |
cleaning rotors? what the hell did you do?
|
With 4" exhaust and sheet metal, there's no such thing as, "Quiet".:lol::lol:
Looks good Eric. Some plastic loom over the wiring would tidy things up and I'm sure you're not done yet and was planning on that anyway. |
What do you guys use to coat your wheel wells? I hope to pick something up locally tommorow at the auto parts store or lowes. I'd hate to use undercoating, that stuff is just nasty.

I didn't do anything. You can never have too many motors though. The motor i dynoed the car on was a throw together motor. It had dented rotors from the last go round and i am sure the springs were not 100% either. Also i found out i put the wrong side seal springs in too, i used the S4 type instead of the S6 ones :dunno: . So now i am building my "good" motor :icon_tup: |
Eric if it were my street car i would go with the steel you seem to be doing a good job with it and its easier to work with.
Use plastic bed liner it dries but wont rub off or stay sticky it sound deadns good also! |
Will that bed liner from autozone work? It it brush on or spray on?

This is what you want right here.
Part # TR250 https://www.autobodytoolmart.com/ima...dium/12727.gif |
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^what he said!
Thanks 13b-RX3!:) |
Awesome, thanks guys!
Cross country? No...... but 4 hour drives, yes... |
Sorta stuck now, waiting for the seam sealer to cure before I coat the inside of the wheel wells with bedliner.
So, I got board and boxed up the bottom front section. The part where I cut out the driveshaft hole, that follows the contour of the driveshaft tunnel, in case someone was gonna give me grief for not cutting a uniform half moon shape . I didn't have any big peices of cardboard to mock up the center section so I had to cut up a old drain pain. Anyhow, this should give you a idea of how I'm going to do it. Unless someone can tell me why this won't work, I think this is how I'm going to do it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3053.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3054.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3044.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3045.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3046.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3050.jpg |
Got the front half done and seam sealed. Gonna hold off until I get tuned to finish off the rear. Still not 100 % sure about what I'm going to do back there since I need a sealed door to access the fuel cell.
Anyhow, I guess this will do......... still not 100% sure that I like how it turned out. I left the front right and left sides un paneled because I wanted the crossmember accessible for when I get a roll bar, the roll bar will tie right into that. That won't be for awhile though.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3064.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3063.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3067.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...k/DSCN3069.jpg |
