Red face 1st gen FRONT DRAG WHEEL SIZING needed. ~~

I've got the GSL SE front's.

1st- What's the bolt pattern? I've heard they're 4X4.5 and have also heard they're 4X4-3/4. Which is correct?

2nd- What backspace are you guys running?

3rd- Are 26" tall tires too tall? My rear tires are 28" tall, so I'd like things to match up nicely.

Tirerack has a section that shows you how to measure and you will know 100% what you got. On tires I bet 26's are going to look huge unless you can get that front to sit way down??? IDK..... I would go for the 25's... You can always send them back.

Yeah, I know how to measure but I'm stuck at work and I'm being impatient

My old FD had 26's up front so I didn't think there would be that much difference between the two.

Thanks, I'm waiting to hear back from Holeshot. I'm trying to see if they can drill out some Holestar's for 4 lug. I'd like something that matches my rear Holestar's.

Hey let me know if they can do this for you, I like the style and would like to see if they can supply them in 4 x (4.5) lug pattern.

Wait, how am I going to have a 4 1/2" backspace when the front wheels are only 4" wide?

the front wheels only come in one offset,it is a zero offset they are only 3.5 or 4 in. wide. my draglites are exactly that 4 on 4.5 wich is gsl-se.

Well, holeshot says the holestars can't be drilled for 4 lug. So, it looks like my only option is the Holeshot Mod Stars.

Do you guys think the Mod Stars will match my Hole Stars?

My car, and my rear Hole Stars.

And, the Mod Stars, still a 5 Star wheel but it's slightly different. I would have the centers anodized to match the rears.

Do what i did with my rx3...Buy an Aerospace brake kit as 5x4.5 BP to bolt up to your spindle style, then call holeshot and order them. Very Simple. You are going to end up upgrading your front brakes anyway, with that kind of power! It will look very nice.

^+1, that's what I did. Also the Aerospace brakes bring the offset inwards a little so wheels like Welds fit better. Go with the largest offset they offer.

what i did was drilled my lower control arms one inch and brought them in i had to cut my tierods also 1/2 inch on both sides and got tony at www.awrracing.com to modify me his second gen camber caster plates to fit my first gen and that was no biggie cause all we did was shave the strut neck so it could fit inside the plates , and i used miata coilover's for the front wich he also suplied direct fit over the tube and welded them pupies on , it gives me all the clearence i need cause up front i use toyo 25x4x15

I'm thinking I might just go ahead and order it.... don't want to, but whatever

you can just bolt on the standard weld wheel skinnies up front with no problem. if you upgraded the calipers at all, just use specers or an adapter. most racing sanctioning bodies require the use of longer wheels studs anyways. so using a spacer to clear is no big deal if needed.
