Some strict definitons of "STREETABLE" have to be made before ANY speculation could be proceeded.

OKay, thanks fellas this is the stuff only you guys know. thanks for the input. So basically a 7 can runs lopw tens while being able to drive in rush hour traffic if nered be, while being full interior, right. CUz that is what I am aiming for one day.

My buddy worked at Mazsport in Florida and there was a fella there that had a 9 sec. FB. He drove it to work sometimes. It made around 520whp. My buddy has pics somewhere.
It's all about weight, traction, and power.

Thanks for the input, keep the good news coming. Instead of those who don't know much about rx7's. Here they can go straight to the meat. So far their are more than a handful of street leagl 9 sec. rx7's. I think crispeeds 685 hp FD could run 9.50's with the stock 5 speed and slicks. how bout ya'll think so?

Going back to the cubic inches. Fourre is doing 9.98 (N/A) on a four rotor. fully street legal here in NZ. how do you think a rotary would go if it had the cubic capacity of a V8. say 4 or 5 litre???
w/ turbo
w/ turbo

Lowrolla ur lucky u live in the land of the rotary man. 9 sec street cars are common up their aren't they. A friend is going to New Zealand this summer, I will go one day. I saw a vid of a rx7 running a 7.9 in new zealand.

im sure a 5.2 liter 8 rotor would kick ***!! but what would it fit in.....the rotary was a attempt for a compact idea for power without the displacement. so its hard to try to compare it to anything.
i raced mine at a run what ya brung....1/4 mile oval. they put me in v-6 class. at a local car show the put me in 4-cylindar class. no rotory class so they basically said"how many spark plugs?" the rotory is its own low displacement little power-house.....theres nothing comparable.

gravytraindg I totslly agree. You should tell the tech guys to look on rx7.com tech section they can clear that up. Plus domestics hate being beat by imports let alone the rotary.

yeh
Wah WAH wah! WAH! Supras are over rated my *******! V8 garbage. How come every 1.3liter drag rx7 beats hinson's v8 car? DID I mention its only a 1.3 liter? Man thats sad. I'll put my friends 7.4s FD to teach it a lesson. Did I mention its only a 1.3 liter? No one will recognize the tubb, will they? OH, did I foget to say its only a mere 1/3 on you V8? Oh his Rx7 has a stock engine with a turbo no spray. How much work and money does the V8 have? Give me address so I can mail you rednecks some tissues.

It doesn't mean they are not faster even if you are not impressed. That's like everyone trying to disregard UGR racing's Garth running a 7.98@183mph in a street trim viper. The supra boys were crying...but but but it's a V-10 and but but.
Reliability and cost make V-8's a great option for many even if the hp/l isn't there the quicker/faster 1/4 mile time usually are for less money to boot.

I have personally rode in this BEAST and wouldnt take anything away from it. The car is a awesome street car in every way.

There are at least 3 to 4 FD's in the world than have ran high 8's with the factory IRS. I know of one FC that ran 9.1 and it used most of the lane with 26x8 MT slicks. Most of the other FC's are in the 9.30's and up.
I know in Japan there are many FC's and FD's running in the mid to high 9's with Nitto drag radials something I've not seen done anywhere else in the world but I might be wrong. I've seen Ari run 10.0's on BFG's drag radials in competition but he may have gone quicker.
