what is the best boost controller?

who makes the best boost controller? does it matter if all of your turbocharger components are the same as your boost controller?

Greddy Profec B is the most user friendly boost controller on the market. They all generally work the same and just as capable as one another. Apex'i AVCR is probably the most complicated one out there but it offers the most options and information as well, where as the Greddy Profec B is simple as pie and gets the job done right. Fuzzy logic is exactly what it says, FUZZY! I would stay away from the "smart" controllers such as HKS EVC IV, Greddy Profec A, and Apex'i AVCR. Plus they all cost too much.
You could also go manual boost controllers but they are kind of a pain to keep readjusting for high boost and low boost settings.

i have a greddy boost controller installed. but it was put in by the guy that i bought the car from. i am not sure what lind it is cuz i can't find a serial number or anything other than greddy. it has a **** in the middle to control boost, a digital display, and power button, and a few "screw" switches. does that sound familiar at all?

It is not the Profec B. The Profec A has a power button, then an alarm button, a boost control ****, a digital display, and then 3 smaller *****:ratio, time, off/set. This is from left to right. There is also an Overtake Booster button on the top right. The Profec B has three *****. Power, low boost, and high boost. I am guessing you have the Profec A which is more expensive but a pain in the *** to control with. Sell it and buy the Profec B. Follow the vacumn lines from the back of the Boost controller into the engine bay to find the module. It should say what model you have.

The Blitz is a fine Boost controller from what I have heard. I have never used it but if it half as retarded as the AVCR then it is just a waste. Too many companies are trying to make a simple item into a complicated electronic marvel. A boost controller is such a simple device but all the "learning" of your driving habits and such is retarded. It is the same with Turbo Timers. Now the newer TT's are also doing your 1/4 mile times and stuff. I still feel the Profec B is the best boost controller period. It is also the best value.

so how much is the profec B....I have seen the avcr (apexi) and u can choose your injector duty cycle and much other things almost like a S-AFC built in. So how is the retarded? Just serious.

The Profec B can be had for around $300. The PFC is the best unit that Apex'i puts out. It can control it all and it is only a few hundred more than tha AVCR or the S-AFC. I had the S-AFC on my GSX and I like the pretty blue lights but it was not real user-friendly like my Profec B. You do not have to compensate for everything, just turn the boost up or down. With the steering wheel switch you can launch at 12psi and then push the button and shoot up to 20psi for your higher gears which is a great way to get off the line without spinning as much or wheel hopping.
I know the AVCR has an integrated injector puls monitor but I am not aware of it being able to control your injector duty. The best feature it has is replay mode.

I have the new Blitz boost controller and it is complicated to use. Also, it cost way too much compared to the other boost controllers out there in the market.
