Looks like a clearance issue more than the seal at fault.

thanks,

There are quite a few drag guys that are using ALS seals with great success, maybe you might be better off asking them over in the drag section. I also have a few customers in Australia & New Zealand using ALS on their cars, so I'll report back with their results as soon as they hit the track.

Here's a pic for how they look.

What do you mean by more? If you want more of a safety margin then the ALS seals are for you. If you want something stronger that wont wear out look at a set if NRS ceramics. Every seal has some kind of draw back. There is no seal that can do everything PERIOD!

ALS and RA seals are good for both street and drag but I prefer RA better if you're not a good tuner.

rotaryboys a friend of mine used the black ALS seals and he told me that they could handle lots of abuse, 2bar and more, but they are not good for street racing since they wear out very soon, so drag racing are the best use for them. maybe another type of ALS seals, not the black one,is better for street racing.

also, i havent used the RA seals..maybe they are next on the list..

i am looking for a set of seals that could handle 1.2+ bar of boost for everyday driving..and when necessary, setting up the boost up to 1.8-2 bar..while be able to put..50k miles on them....... is it possible... ???
thanks!
George

Why be a drama queen? Pete blew his engine and you are going to tell everyone how crappy they are, right?? Go right ahead then but remember which seals still hold the 13B world record
Not going to bother arguing with you about it, what good would it do? It's the seals fault right? Nothing to do with fuel, build or prototype parts in the engine. Crappy seals fell apart with no reason at all, I know.

Wouldn't it be awesome if you could somehow bend the seals back into place thru the spark plug holes? Saving yourself an entire rebuild!

No need for all that drama... I've personally seen an Rx7 in Puerto Rico hurt his motor during an event and was about to call it quits for the day. Luckly he was running ALS Seals and one of the ALS developers told him to let the motor cool down, then restart the car and let it idle for a while... Sure enough the seals straightened themselves back out and the car pulled off another 7 second pass. Actually it continued racing with the same engine.

On another occasion, I also witness a street/strip FD went extremely lean on the dyno and he also "hurt" the motor, or at lease that's what he thought
The seals did their job and not break. They also straightened themselves back out and it's good as new.

Like Allen said, there are different seals for different applications but IMO the ALS Seals are suited for most guys out there. Ceramics are nice but when happens when they break

For the price and quality, ALS is by far the best option in my book.. I'm not just saying that because I sell them, I'm saying it because I've seen what they do and how well they perform!

I am an NRS guy... I have detonated my motor several times over the past few years while experimenting with certain tuning methods(while having a bad fuel pump) and the motor still pulls the same compression numbers from week one. If I had any other seals- I would have had to rebuild at least 2x. That was enough proof for me that NRS seals are one of the best out there. Not that I don't enjoy pulling them motor and disassembling it with my kids grabbing at me.... LOL
