Turbo Manifold "Flange"

I was jut watching a youtube video of the quad rotor and there was allot of pressure escaping on the exhaust side at high rpm. It got me thinking, people go through allot of trouble to seal the compressor side of a turbo system and then just slap a gasket onto the exhaust side? It would be better if you had a leak on the compressor side!

So I was thinking you could have the manifold flange machined to create a 1/4" lip around the port and a matching groove into the exhaust port to create an air tight seal. You could also machine a groove in both sides and use an insert.

I havent seen anyone do this that's why I brought it up.

Copper annealed gasket, do some research. Can be made in your garage and cost you $5 in materials and requires NO expensive machining.

Mike's got it. Copper expands as it heats and only seals better with more heat...
