TR6060 13B dxf files

I found it hard to find DXF files of this stuff so I drew some up
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/c3dy4xf9v...O2axTZ2za?dl=0

this is for my FDRX7
I used a water jet to cut these so if you want to open the files you can download Protomax software for free from the website as long as you are running windows 10
I just section some 1/4" steel plate for the round bits
to line this up I left the section centre to line up with the input shaft of the gearbox then welded this all up before cutting the tabs out to remove it
I also cut another solid plate out of some 20mm scrap aluminium to use a welding jig to stop anything warping
This has so far been a really cheap conversion, last thing is a slip yoke drive shaft as the TR6060 is out of a VE holden commodore so it has a bolt in yoke
I used a holesaw to cut the clearance in the side of the gearbox for the starter motor so that it mounts in the factory position

so plenty of clearance now especially around the bell housing for my 4" exhaust, plus this doubles as a scattershield now to keep the tech inspector happy at the dragstrip, no more need for a scatter blanket , shifter looks to be in the exact place as well , just modifying an el cheapo short shifter from a T56 , its got a ball which ill just cut off and thread for the eye of the TR6060 shifter arm

so gearbox is all in and running, shifts really good, ratios not to bad, shifts fast and crisp at high RPM, starting on the ford 8.8 diff conversion at the moment , just drawing up the rear diff plate, keep your eye on this post, ill upload the DXF once ive got it made

need to balance the drive shaft , is getting a good vibration going at around 90km/hr

oh and the stupid release bearing keeps returning to far and I have to pump the pedal up to change gear, got the car back on the hoist- will be ripping the return spring out

I suspect I may go down this path when I look for a bigger turbo. Thanks for sharing, good feedback on box too.

update on the rear end , got hold of some 36mm dia ford exploder axles , these things are massive, got my full spool for the 8.8 and got my 4.88 ratio , just finished machining hubs to clear axles and modified the mazda bearing carriers to suit , was fussing with the abs rings but I might just delete the abs all together, so far it is all go, pulled the motor for a rebuild with more power as well

Hi, Nice work on the gearbox and 8.8 conversion. Do you have the box back out of the car seeing the motor is out, some more pic’s of your bell housing would be great. I have tried to find Holden’s TR6060 gearbox ratios in the past but only found conflicting stories, have you spun the shaft to check ratios.
Cheers

so started the axles, spline cutter works a treat here's some pics of my setup plus the little G code program I wrote, will work on pretty much any ISO controller( fanuc , siemens, Haas etc)
this is all for the ford 8.8 rear end conversion, the last bit to complete, local shop wanted $700NZD to cut to measly splines, burglars, I used to cut a lot of these a while back and we would only charge $150 to do 4 splines
I dont have access to a gear cutter anymore so the 4th axis will have to suffice but works really good, plus the cutter is carbide so will make short work on the toughened axles

axle test, fits cv really good

ISO G code

cutter code

cutter mounted on shaft

4th axis setup

so I tried to cut the factory ford axles but man they are tough, I managed to cut through the surface hardness, but by the looks the hardening goes really deep so potentially weak, I scrapped this idea and ordered some 4340 round bar to cut and ill get them toughened after I cut the splines, got my motor back to should be all go soon , next is most likely a cage as if I run tens ill get in trouble and banned for 12months

I'd be keen to have a chat to you about how this conversion has worked out. If you're still looking for gear ratios, this is accurate for VF TR6060's

well my axles didnt last very long
launch only set at 6500 rpm
didnt even get a pass

made these from 4340 and they were meant to be nitrided but from the shear point it looks like the heat treatment guys stuffed up because the nitriding is at least 3-4mm deep , making my poor axles brittle which makes me think they induction hardened them

anyway back to the drawing board , I have some K600 coming (EN30b , 1.2767 ) which I have used before and I think ill take these to another heat treatment place once made

all the axles machined up , I "necked" these axles after copying of some in a 800hp class 1 truck , the K600 machines beautifully , ill give them a bit more of a polish once i have cut the splines and the c clip grooves fingers crossed these last longer than 3 seconds

Nice work there, good luck with version 2 axles. Is the 11 sec ban local to the track? Is the cage requirement for NZ tracks still 10.5 seconds under NZDRA.

So first meeting of the Meremere night wars on Friday night was awesome ,
First pass low boost , no launch and got a 12.48 on the quarter just get get a feel for things ( and at least 1 pass incase the axles snap)

second pass of the night , a white FD was staging in front of me and he ripped into a 10.92 ( he is teched and runs consistent low 10s)
This stirred me on , 26psi on the two step , launched hard , cars loose , big swerves end of track , back out a bit to reign it back in.
Result 10.46 @ 120MPH , 1.45 60ft , 1 meeting ban , hopefully not 12months as in the new rules for running under 10.5 , axles held up , swerves caused from my breather spitting oil mist down the bottom of the car flicking on to my rear tyres
got a nice cromo bolt in cage ready to go so I can get teched , hopefully get this all done next couple of weeks.
There is a newish class C7 Pro street for cars doing 10s , I want to wind up the the owners of all the big power late model holdens , fords , dodges and camaros that all run in this class with way to much money
