I'm sure my car will go at least 170 MPH.

The previous owner had pegged the speedo (160) on it several times and that was when it was stock.

145,.... Still had 5th gear to go!!! Scared the **** out of the guy riding with me when he said "**** we are doing 145" and I said "one more gear to go" . Needless to say I was a little scared too so I let off. But it still had plenty left to go. Atleast it felt like it.

I just hit a little over 153 or so coming back from Miami this sunday. The Corvette C5's never wanna race, but this one did so i took advantage of it. I love seeing those little orange lights in my rear view
p.s.- the reason why i say 153 or so is cuz i looked down after i let off the gas, so who knows what i was up to

Took my wife on the FD this weekend for a ride. It's been a while, since she doesn't like riding in the sports car.
Doing easy 85mph on the highway, took the exit ramp at the same speed and blasted to 150mph. She said: "It feels more like 80mph in my minivan"
Gotta love this sports car!

Speed on Autobahn in Germany

Hello,

I drove mine with the modifications I have done 313KM/h
around 195 Mp/haround half an Hour. was realy funny.
Afriend of mine with a F360 F1 began to cry as he saw this(because of the performance and cost).
With my car it is no problem to reach the topspeed in between 1 KM.

bets regards michael

I dont know what actual speed, but with a 1st genX7 3.63 rear gears, 225x17x55 tyres I have peaked at 8,300rpm in 5th gear(turbo2 box). There was more to come but not enough left in me. Before you cough about this it was fitted with a 600hp 3 rotor and properly set up with Bilstein Suspension. Same car ran 10.4@138mph and saw 19,000km on road per year.

about 150-155 in my 3 and about 130-135 in my 87 TII (plenty of power left, but starts to vibrate and generally feel unsafe).

Now that I've got the T04S on the 93, it's time to top the 150 number which shouldn't be hard. I WILL get video of it too.

With a series 4 turbo box this would be 239mph.
With a series 5 turbo box this would be 253mph.
Where did you do this?

On the road between melbourne and my house, entry speed about 80mph and about 3miles of straight road with no intersections. It is my regular test straight. I cant see those speeds being possible. 200 maybe? Those were the numbers, at that speed you only get a quick glance at tacho, but the log matched my tach.

A buddy of mine racing a 'bussa' pulled 8900 rpm in 5th!
It was an 88 TII with a 4.30 rear gear and 255/50/16 BF drag radials. They raced from 3rd gear up and the 'Bussa' pulled like two cars on the go. By 4th they were even and in 5th the Rx-7 had like 4 cars on the bike and was still pulling according to the owner of the bike. The bike was not stock and have been clocked on radar at 215mph!
The Rx-7 makes around 620RWHP and 710RWHP on the bottle!
8900rpm X 5th gear X 4.30 rear gear X 255/50/16 tires = mph ?

crispeed
87 Rx-7 TII
9.204@150.47mph

I forget the exact gear ratio of 5th, but I think it's about .793. If that's the case then the speed would have been 203.44 MPH.

If the road is straight you can just make believe you're running in an extended 1/4 mile.

= 214.92 mph.

I gave your friend the benefit of the doubt and used 815 flywheel horsepower (~710 RWHP) and stripped 200 lbs. from the car. Car Test 2000 says top speed with all the factors you listed above (5th gear, 4.30 differential, 255/50-16) is 214.92 mph (8,328 rpm in 5th) with that horsepower. Off the bottle, I got 210 mph (8,145 rpm in 5th).

However, I tend to doubt the 215 mph figure for the bike, unless it is far from stock. The stock 'Busa tops out at 180-181 according to Car Test and all the magazine articles I've read. Even with 50 extra horsepower and different gearing, it's not going to go 215 mph. The coefficient of drag on the Hayabusa is 0.42. Unless you changed the structure of the bike, changed the gearing, and added quite a bit more horsepower, it's not going 215 mph. I think the bike owner has an over-developed sense of imagination.

At about 155-160 mph, the aerodynamics of the car take over and from there on, it should have been RX-7 all the way to wherever they stopped.

What ratio did you use for 5th to get 214?

Ok, I was just wondering why our calculations were different.
