I think the top end is over 160. there are some beautiful isolated back roads where I live. I have hit 155 indicated, and was still pulling, I would have gone faster but I ran out of straight road.

I have had the 94 Touring Automatic up to 135 already. Held back cause I am riding on some "H" rated touring tyres that came with the car and I don't have alot of faith in them even though they have plenty of tread left. I will take it to the top once the new W rates show up and are installed.
She pulled to 135 in a breathtakingly quick fashion and had plenty left in her when I backed off the juice.
At 135 she is rock steady and flat as a pool table. As far as aerodynamics go I see no reason why the stock Touring package couldn't handle 170+
I have heard a few claims of over 173 for heavily modded 3rd gens, but I believe my top will be around 163-165 with an HKS downpipe as my only mod.
BTW the fastest I ever took my 88 TII was 140, didn't trust the suspension. Front end got light around 130 and way too light at 140 (hit the hooks hard). I am having the car completely redone now so I am looking forward to maxing it also.
As the song sez
"..take it to the redline overload, You'll never know what YOU can do until you take it far as it will go...."

Interesting note: my buddy alan (w/no front or rear spoiler) who was following me said at 140mph the rear end got very squirrely, so he let off.
Car felt rock solid (love my tanabe coilovers; thanks Ari), and I'm fairly confident that I coulda pegged the speedo (pulls much harder now in 5th gear with all the mods) if I'd had the extra road...

Damn you guys are nuts. 120 for me so far, but she's stock and needs tires, suspension, front spoiler and brakes. Does anyone know where there are any straight (enough) roads for me to try and top 120? I'm in Torrance, CA.

Great quote jeff48! Luv that song...
I hit 140 a few weekends ago at MADS (windows down). Had just shifted to 5th, so it should have had plenty left. You guys see your hood shaking at those speeds? A little disconcerting...
Plus, as one person alluded to, these are INDICATED speeds. I've read that speedos aren't calibrated for anywhere above about 70 so they start getting pretty far off on the top end.
Get yourself a track day, Piston Pete. Can't beat long wide straightaways with no cops to worry about. Quick triple digit squirts are one thing, but I personally don't trust my tires enough to go barrelling down some two-lane backroads pushing for top speed. Maybe I'm just a puss....

just to reitorate from my post above.....174 no intercooler mod, sunroof open, windows down, touring package with NO wing. AND.....a passesger. i was doing some high speed passes with my friend on an R1 yammaha. he was behind me and said that there was a blue flame about 8 inches long flowing constantly from the n-tech exhaust. he also said the inner muffler, from what he could see, was glowing red....
i was runnung on stock wheel and tire size. i dare ot try it on the streets now with the tire size that i have now. too much tracing and swaying in the lanes to feel saafe.....

If I really intend to keep driving high speeds I am seriously considering adding some hood pins. I know it looks a little lame but it sure beats the hood peeling off or launching the whole car into a flip.

I have had my car over 180mph (as idicated by stock speedometer). This was on a country road that was nice and flat for miles. I held it to the floor until I saw the needle PASS the 180mph mark, then I let off. The car got up there really quickly and was still pulling strong when I let off. My last glance at the Tachometer I was passing up 7400rpm in 5th!
I have had my car 160mph+ on more than 10 occasions. My 2nd and 3rd fastest speeds were 174 and 168. To me, the car still feels really stable and was not wandering all over the road.
My hood NEVER shakes! Y'all should check to make sure your alignment is good and that your tires are balanced. I have not ever had my hood start to shake before (at any speed), that can't be good.

I have been up to 140 or a little over about 5-6 times. I've been up to 120 many times. Car felt very stable at 140, but the steering ratio that seems so good at 80mph feels a little quick at that speed.
Also, I don't have ANY hood shake and the rear end did not get loose in the slightest bit. I have no front or rear spoilers.
legendrx7 is right, a few of you need to check your wheel balance or alignment if you are getting shaking.
