Suspension and 1/4 mile times.

This winter I have the car all torn apart redoing the whole suspension. The cars suspension was totally stock with what may have been the origional shocks still on the car. Over the summer I ran an 11.81, will I see a noticable difference in my 1/4 times due to the suspension upgrades.

actually. the stock old suspension is soft which is perfect for drag racing. once you upgrade it. might be too stiff and you might get some wheel hop....... i know i did with tokico illumina's and eibach pro kits

Well that's why they are Illumina's. They are adjustable. When drag racing, set the front ones to maximum stiffness, and the rear ones on full soft for the best weight transfer possible.

my best in my FD on drag radials has been 1.75 that has a similar suspension to my TII on it. anyway that is just my personal experience. if he is getting 1.71 i don't think its gonna get much better for drag racing anyway..... LOL

You guys are not going to beleive me, but when I ran that 1.71 60' time I felt my car even bogged a little.

Isn't it the other way around? you want the front to rise but the back not to squat much with an IRS.....because you lose contact patch. Actually that's most of the cars that i've seen. You want the front to rise up fast and have a very slow rebound......and the rear to squat just a little with slow rebound.

Are the Illumina's rebound adjustable? If not then i can understand the front being stiff......but not the rears being full soft.

No, you want the rear to be soft and the front a little harder so as not to come up as high. You want as little movement as possible between shifts.

You want the fronts soft going up and hard coming down. IE 90/10s. Its better if the front comes up easily. I dont know if you can do this with tokicos though.
