Still looking for 12's at the track...
22 races and still haven't made it into the 12's. I am having my clutch replaced next week. It's been slipping bad for the past month ( last 7 runs). Once the new clutch is in I will finally put the ET streets on and run 100 octane. I will not be happy until I am running low to mid 12's. (Then I will shoot for high 11's...) Here are all my runs and times...

My best 60' has been 2.1374, but I missed 3rd gear on that run. My average 60' has been 2.2598. I am running Yokohama AVS ES100 (275x35x18) in back. With my clutch slipping the way it is I have choosen not to do a burn out the last 2 times to the track. I wanted to save my clutch as long as possible.
Hopefully I will have enough time to break my new clutch in so I can take it to the track Wed. April 30th.

Is the car tuned in? Reason I say that because I'm running a 12.600@116.50 with my sig. CJ
EDIT: uhhh sorry about that....seems my sig does'nt realy say anything.
I'm running a downpipe, mid pipe, stock cat back, m2 medium style, (spyfish ic) efini Y-pipe, m2 intake, power fc, and a profec b@13psi.

it looks like your mph is all over the place. in that sheet you trapped over 110mph 3 times, thats enough for 12s. but obviously if the clutch is slipping that can account for a lot. even on street tires you should make it to 12s with that setup.

Every single one of your runs would have touched 12's and some real low 12's if you can get your 60 foot down to 1.90
Part of the problem is probably your wheels and rubber. If you still have your stock wheels, you should cover them with drag radials and run those at the track. You'll be in the low mid 12's like that.
Also, you shouldnt be needing a new clutch with those 60 foot times since your already have a ACT clutch. Or is your sig talking about the clutch your fixing to use?

It'll be hard to get your 60'ft times below 2 w/ those wheels. Put your stock rims back on w/ somne good rubber, do a goood burn out, launch at a high rpm and make sure that you power shift. You'll get to low 12's sooner or later.

Thanks for the input. As for the clutch...I currently have the ACT street/strip. I am going to the ACT extreme clutch. As the the wheels...I am taking my stock wheels and putting ET streets on them.
As for my trap speeds being all over the board, it probably has alot to do with me missing 3rd gear so often. I will eventually get that figured out.

You dont need anymore than the ACT street strip clutch. If your frying the clutch its cause your sliping it for to long at high rpms when you come off the line. The clutch itself can handle way more power than your giving it.
I used to run 12.3's @ 113 with 1.8x 60 foot times on Nitto drag radials on the BONE STOCK clutch.

I wonder what you would run with the stock (light) rims and some race rubber. What is the total diameter of your 18" wheel / tire combo compared to the stock diameter? What is its weight? Wheel weight and diameter is just like vehicle weight and gearing, respectively.

Wow, you had some horrible reaction times when you began racing, but is typical. If you got more practice and shed off .3 seconds in reaction time you would be in the high high 12's. But like I said, takes a lot of practice, or just good luck to hit .5-.6 second reaction times.

yeah, you could fall asleep at the tree. the time doesn't start until you move....that's what the staging lights are for- for the timing system to know when you're ready and when you leave the line.

Yea, they dont start the clock till your front tires move and trip the clock. You can sit at the line for 10 minutes and the clock wont start till you take off.
Your reaction time is a concern is during bracket racing when its down to who crosses the line first, but even then its not added into your time. Your time is the same no matter what, but since your reaction time was slow you crossed the line 2nd and even though your time was better you loose cause you crossed 2nd.
Anyway, it was already said, I just thought I would take it a little farther and explain it some.

FastRXman, hate to mention it now, but you oughta consider swapping those Nittos for Thompson ET Streets before you use them.
I own both the Nittos and the ET streets and there is no comparison at launch. Nittos just did very little for me. They were only a bit better than my Michelin Pilots & frankly I'm not even sure they WERE better. But the ET streets produced a whole new sensation, a slingshot feeling - they really hook. The ET streets are easier on the rear-end too.
Missing third is easy to do. If you ever get a new tranny (as I unfortunately need to do) however, the new version has a real strong detent spring that makes getting into 5th a real deliberate act. I also have a torque brace. If I miss third again I should turn in the car. I have not run the car yet this year so we will see if the new tranny and brace really work this weekend.
Consider the Pettit launch kit too. Cheap and easy to install. Absolutely reduces wheel hop.
I run 12.06 with a cat & I WILL break into the 11s this weekend. With a mid-pipe you will waltz to the 12s and maybe the 11s if you have a good tune.

The only thing he needs to do is get his 60' times to about a 1.80 and he'll be running mid to low 12's. High 11's on 15psi.
