You guys winge too much, i didnt bother reading the whole thread cause you guys are so negative and nag too much and winge about how **** rotaries are WHY THE **** DO YOU OWN ONE IN THE FIRST PLACE

Mate, take the car to a workshop, tell them your goals, and they will do it for you, it can be done, dont forget you can fit huge tyres on the rear end, everything will have to be changed, and the only thing the guys here are right about, is that you will need good money, the workshop can do all the work for you within 2 months, i know it can be done here in australia at least.

550rwhp will get you a nice 10.50 pass, but thats about it. If you want to make some real power......in excess of 700rwhp turbo only on C16, give Demetrios K of Reactive Racing call. Now your talking about a real tuner.

I wasn't goin to chime in, but I couldn't resist. Going 9's in a 7 isn't easy, but it can be done. Hell, I went 10's on a stock reman. You wanna see a 9 second setup.....Take a look at mine.......

I have a question here?

I don't have the funds to to this
if I did I would of done it by now

Why hasn't Ari
Steve.k + (RX-7.com team)
or any other rotor head shop owners
with good funds

built a 20B with a TH400 tranny to run with the supras?

A Nissan 350Z has come out just recently and ran a 8.3 agaisnt the Supras (Nopi street class drag radials)
was running low 10's untill he switched to a powerglide or a 3 speed

Sporty Auto FD
runs 9.8-9.9 (consistant !)
boost only (street port)
624 rwhp
simple setup
engine bay looks plain nothing wild
full interior
TiTanMotorSports had a vid of the dyno
but the vid is down

For everyone wondering, my friend Joey Gonzalez was running 9.50's with 594whp in his 13Brew powered S5 streetcar. (Was running stock rearend, Gforce sequential tranny. Still using a clutch) Gforce told him if he switched to clutchless his exact same setup would be good for 9.10-9.20 in the 1/4.

I've also seen 620whp put an untubbed S4/S5 StreetCar into the 8.90's. (Some weight reduction. IE: Removed passenger seat, no carpet, A/C, PS.)

Greddy T88-H
Large Street Port
HKS Drag Coil Overs

With pretty much the same setup, Demetrios went 9.20@153mph, stock rear. etc....

buy a 1st gen FB. Buy a half bridged RE motor. Slap a y2k turbo onner. Tub the rear with slicks. Never look back. You will smoke his ***. 17-20k max costs

There is an old joke about dyno queen Supras. Do you know the difference between a 600rwhp street supra and a 1000rwhp street supra? They both run 10's just at different trap speeds. Turbo cars on the street have a terrible time with traction. I love them don't get me wrong, but don't be expecting to have a 8-9 sec 1/4 mile street setup turbo car. It's hard enough getting a torque monster V8 to be streetable at the 8-9 sec mark. My point is there is a BIG difference between the street, and the track man, so keep that in mind when you hear some guy talking about his supra.

No way the motor will be street legal strictly from a HP / Weight Ratio.... but as far as looking stock or near stock sleeper, I think you could do it... but this would be more of a top fuel dragster project, and you're likely to spend as much as a barely used viper costs... 40+ G's since the 20B swap alone will get you into the 20K+ range... and turbos, ECU etc... all are 1000's of dollars.... I hope the FD was cheap
Considering stock weight on both cars. What HP would the 7 need to have to match the 1/4 mile time of the 1200rwhp bus in question?

I, too like somebody else mentioned know quite a few very fast Supra's. Locally is Paul Efantis who has the fastest (8.40) and Matt Miller has the quickest 6spd. Supra at 9.88
So I highly doubt your friend has a Supra (street legal) running faster than high 9's. Not gonna happen on a stock Supra tranny (6spd. or auto) That being said, your gonna need to run a Jerico or G-force tranny and make 700rwhp+. Thats been done only by a VERY select group of people. Steve Kan nor Ari Yallon have made this kind of power so that gives you an idea of how hard it is. Demetrios K. has made this kind of power and ran a 9.20@153mph, but that was a 2500lb car which yours won't weigh. Sorry to rain on your parade, but your not going to run this fast, unless you want to go to "full race car" route.

my friend went 10.4 @ 138 with his 6 speed supra on the stock 140k mile motor. it's currently getting a motor built for it and a larger turbo setup. he's trying to hit mid 9's on the stock tranny, then he says it's time for an auto

Wrong... look up Tony Melber or Matt Miller - both are in the mid to high 700s at the wheels - and both have clicked 9's.

Both, Tony and Matt are close friends of mine and both live within 5miles from me. Tony made 820rwhp, at tad more than 700, and Matt made 775rwhp, damn close to 800rwhp. A Supra will not run 9's unless your making upper 700's or low 800's on a 6spd. BTW....Tony went 9's one time and never backed it up. Matt, on the other hand has went 9's about 7 different times now.

yes, but the JT5000-EFI is no longer available. replaced with the JT1200-hp2000 combo. Ernie got the last one ever to be cast.

I have an idea.. why don't you just put a 1200 hp supra motor in your 7? And smoke everything around you, being it an rx7, a supra and even some souped up v8's.

Or if you want to save some money just buy a 88-93 5.0L coupe and put a twin turbo kit on it.
