i don't know if i'm missing somthing here or what.. i need info on finding TDC then finding the timing for the ports with a degree wheel.. when looking for the IO at 32 degrees i'm getting somthing else.. school me......

When you turn the eccentric shaft,and the rotor is right next to the two sparkplug holeswith a flat side,then your at TDC.Remeber that open BTDC (before top dead centre)

Its allways interesting to see what port timing different people are running...mine is 340 deg

ok i found tdc found my intake to open at 32 degrees but then when i look for it to close at 50 degrees i see that it's still open.. or is there a mathematical equation for this ??? or am i just not seeing this.... i no the 1/3 ratio between the ecc. and the rotors. and the 270 +the 90. i'm still not getting it..

yes my ports are still stock 87TII.. the other thing is what do you guy's think would be a respectable timing for a 35 mm pport with the side race ports still open... i want the least over lap as possible, yes i do plan on timing for it.. but i still got to fig ure this boner out..... if any one can help thanks.. jody hammock

i have it printed out and sitting infront of my engine. it's like i'm just missing somthing very fundamental.. i keep coming up with like a 60^ IC and i don't get the correct exhaust timing that the fsm says i should... well i'm going to go over there in a couple and hash it out and see if it slaps me in the face... somthings not right... did you guy's have any probs...

does the mazda factory pport (IO) have to much over lap to be run with side ports and boost. or will i loose all low end torque.... and have to much blow back

yep it was infront of me. the whole time just had a really long brain fart. on to port the **** out of these things. looking forward to milling the sleeves for the pports. hopfully i'll get some pics of this idea.
