Today at Englishtown Raceway, NJ in qualifying at the NHRA Sport Compact Fall Nationals!

Jose Torres in Siguel Racing's RX-7 ran a 7.825 @ 191.95mph and then came out in the second round of qualifying with a 7.539 @ 193.46mph!!

Siguel has run a best of 7.138 @ 189.07 in June this year

Will this be the first Rotary into the Sixes??

 

That would be friggen sweet if he managed sixes! best of luck to him

 

That last pass lost over 4 tenths in the 60ft as the clutch crept the car before Siguel let it go. There is always tommorow.

Siquel 7.5 with some nasty tire shake. They need some clutch tunning... hope they could get that sweet rx7 back in the low 7's

From what I hear Siguel had a coolant issue in the staging lanes, and was a no-show for round 1

im guessin it would be the first 7 to break 200mph in the 1/4. I just got reminded of that horrible video of that RX-7 flipping at 210 MPH.

 

traffic comming from the track was no joke! i just got home. i'm curious, how do you guys in Oz find out results soo soon? is somebody spending a fortune on international cell phone calls or what?

That was racing beats 900Hp 3 turbo 13G 3 rotor bonneville car. That car got one of the tires caught in a rut and it started a spin that made it launch into the air. But later they rebuilt it and now its black and it when 242 mph and had no such problems.

 

We were out there just enjoying the show.(no car) On the rotary power note, no new records but a whole bunch of rotorheads running pretty decent in the Bracket 3 class.
